Project (During Internship):

Project Title: ”The Hindu Information System Search Engine” (THIS search engine).

Description: The main aim of this search engine is to search the required URLs present in the

www.thehindu.com website. The Backend used is java data structures and front end used is java

swings. We have used the queues to store the urls that are initially crawled. Then the urls are

placed in the hash map where the key-word and the value- linked lists. The linked list consists of

the URL of the corresponding word and the count of the word in that URL. While searching for a

word the user gets the all the urls of that corresponding word displayed. A URL that has the

highest word count will be placed in the top and the URL with lowest word count will be placed

in the bottom.

Project (In Curriculum):

Project Title: “Character Recognition Using Morphological Processing” Using MATLAB.

Description: The main aim of this project is to extract the registration numbers from the

registration number plate, then the extracted characters will be compared with the stored

Database(Database contains the predefined characters from A_Z and digits 0_9). The characters

that match with the database will be obtained and stored separately. We have restricted to the

Ariel font and the centers of the characters must be on the same line.

Team Size: 5 members.
