AUTOMATION OF MATERIAL HANDLING PROCESS IN CERALIN TILE

PRODUCTION

• The word ceralin refers to ceramic liners. These ceralin are used as liners on the inner

surface of pipe lines as wear resistant materials.

• Electro porcelains division (EPD) at Bharath Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)

undertakes the production of these ceralin tiles.

• In our project we are concentrated on the drawbacks of the dry pressing stage in the

production of ceralin tiles due to human assistance and implementation of automated material

handling process to overcome the drawbacks.

• A prototype is constructed to show the automated work process of dry pressing stage.

ROLE

• Took responsibility to build the automation layout and gather the required information about

the hardware requirement for the construction of prototype.

• Actively involved in the construction of the prototype.
