ACADEMIC PROJECT:

Fabrication and Performance Evaluation of Dual Fuel Engine

Functional specification:

It was done for the partial fulfillment of completion of B.Tech, motto of the project is to

use single engine which is capable of running of two different fuels. A four stroke single

cylinder engine is modified into dual mode operation by using two fuels, petrol and LPG

to run the engine. Whereas LPG is used as an alternative fuel. A mixer is placed in the

middle of the inlet valve and the air filter of the engine and the LPG is taken from the

reservoir. The performance evaluation is done using Brake test in Thermal Engineering

Laboratory, and the results are calibrated with fuel as petrol and fuel as LPG. Calculated

the efficiencies and calibrated the emissions evolved by the fuels.
