Experience

NJ Carpenters Local 251, Edison, NJ May 1989 to present

Floor Mechanic

Installer of carpet, carpet tiles, vinyl tile and wood floor products. Took orders for each job to determine how much

material would be needed and loaded onto trucks using hand trucks, pallet jacks and/or forklifts.

Ripped up old material for disposal and prepped floor for installation. Interpreted and followed blueprint, diagrams

and written specifications. Complied with all safety regulation. Carpet and Hard Goods Certification. OSHA Certified. Cut and

trimmed carpet to walls and stretched for tight fit and wall trimmer used to cut excess and tuck carpet for wall to

wall finish then vinyl base installed to finish edges around perimeter. Lines put down for vinyl tiles and hardwood

materials to make sure materials line up evenly with measurements of room then glued for installation.

Knowledge sets include: Carpet base cutters, Carpet seam irons, Carpet tucking tools, Cove base guns, Electric

staple gun and tackers, Loop pile cutter, Power and mini stretchers, knee kicker, knee pads, tape measurers, Floor

scrappers and blades, Pry bars and pullers for rip up, Drills for mixing floor leveling patch, Varity of trowels, Utility

knives and carpet blades.

Vinyl tiles tools include tile cutter, tape measurer, propane torch and base cutter to finish floor edges around walls.
