VOLUNTEER
Was instrumental in the cofounding of a new high school fencing league in
Georgia (On Guard High School Fencing League). In 2012, the member schools
elected me President of the league. During my involvement with the league,
I developed a referee training guide and trained parent referees in the
proper way to officiate a fencing bout. Continued my community volunteer
efforts with the PTA by chaperoning field trips and photographing PTA
events.
1994-2004
Held a variety of volunteer positions in the community. As a member of the
Parent Teacher Association(PTA), I was a room parent which involved
organizing classroom and school activities, providing teacher support in
the classroom, and chaperoning field trips. Was elected treasurer of my
neighborhood homeowner's association and was a member of the homeowner's
board of directors. Also, I assisted with and taught Sunday school classes
to elementary school children. Managed household finances, scheduling,
transportation, hiring and supervising subcontractors for maintenance
projects.
1985-1994
After graduating from Emory University with a BS in Math/Computer Science,
I held a several types of information technology positions in the banking,
healthcare, and software industries. These positions progressed from
software engineer through consultant to manager. During this time, I also
attended Kennesaw State University and obtained an MBA in Information
Systems Management.
