Research Assistant

- Cultured Kidney Tubule Cells, Skin Fibroblasts and Podocytes for study purposes. Studies involved treatment

of cells with high/low glucose, heat shock and induction of ER stress.

- The effect of treatment on G6PD activity was measured by an activity assay. Other enzymes involved in ER

stress- Superoxide dismutase, Peroxidase and Catalase was also assayed.

- HSPs were estimated by western blotting.

Was also involved in the influence of TXNIP activation on G6PD. Helped carry out qPCR to measure TXNIP

-

expression.

Isolated Mouse Kidney Tubule cells and lung endothelial cells

extracted liver enzymes to perform CYP inhibition/induction assays

- Created batches, loaded samples and analyzed output in LC/MS-MS, carried out solid phase extraction to

purify cell lysate

- Cannulated rats in femoral artery, aorta and subclavian vein for multiple IV dose studies and blood pressure

measurement

Performed ELISA to estimate leptin and insulin concentrations in blood, carried out cytotoxicity tests like

-

ames test, micronucleus test, chromosomal aberration test and comet assay

Stained apoptotic cells in pancreas sections and photographed under fluorescent microscope, reported cell
