Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) – Intergovernmental Relations (December 2010 present)

Staff the Metropolitan Energy Policy Coalition (MEPC). This Coalition is comprised of metro

commissioners, Met Council members, and Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) members who work

on energy and environmental regulations impacting member entities. In this capacity, I work with state

agencies on rate cases and am involved in the Solar Rate Reform Group; possess a thorough understanding of

rulemaking and state and federal regulations.

Develop, compile and edit complex information and synthesize into simple memos. Provide research and

background information on legislative issues relevant to county members. Interpret complex issues and make

it understandable and useful for counties. Responsible for ensuring documents created are concise and well

organized.

Prioritize county issues and convey key messages to legislators and legislative staff in a clear, concise manner.

Attend agency and outside organization meetings and synthesize the meetings for members and staff.

Responsible for relaying the county perspective at these meetings to ensure the county voice remains strong

and develop key messages for presentations to agencies and legislative committees.

Analyze legislation and statutes to convey the information to members in an understandable manner in a time

Managed the development and mailing of over 1.3 million pieces of campaign literature for Senate and House

candidates and current members during the 2012 election.

Collaborated with candidates to create an effective direct mail plan. Responsible for overseeing campaign

literature from start to finish which required research, strong writing skills, organization and collaboration

with several partners.

Responsible for the development of key messages; worked with clients to tailor direct mail and door knock

literature to the needs of their district including researching opposition candidates to effectively deliver a

strong statewide message.

keeping candidate information confidential and ensuring campaign communications were in compliance with

Minnesota and Federal election laws.

as rules and regulations. Strong understanding of the administrative and rulemaking process.

Understands many of the processes in working with the PUC and federal regulatory agencies.

Experience reading and interpreting rate case filings, FERC orders, and other statutes, rules and regulations

related to energy and the environment.
