CAREER OBJECTIVE
> To provide my endeavors in the research and corporate world with my
skills and knowledge that I posses for personal and organizational
growth.
> To deliver efficient and reliable solutions to critical situations
thereby adding value to the organization through my continuous
learning and innovation.
Area of Interest
> My Area of Interest includes Structural Biology including Protein
studies involving its purification and crystallization which involves
cell and molecular biology and basics of Recombinant DNA technology.
INTERNSHIPS/ EXPERIENCES
> National Centre for Biological Sciences,Bangalore (9 April 2014 -
Presently Working in Dr. Ranabir Das's lab):
Working on "Expression, purification and NMR study of Brca complex
protein PalB2 " under Dr. Ranabir Das, NCBS, Bangalore.
> Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (1 June 2013 to 2 August 2013):
Worked on "Expression, purification and crystallization of RecQ1
helicase" under Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Scientific officer (G), Solid state
physics division,Protein crystallography section.
> B. R. Nahata College of Pharmacy, Mandsaur [M.P.](1 June 2012 to 15 July
2012):
Got trained under Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment
Council Centre of Relevance & Excellence in Green Pharmacy(TIFAC CORE)
Research Program (TCRP) in clinical research and BA/BE studies(2011-
2012) with enrollment number:2012/04.
During this tenure also got hands on training of the basic
instrumentation of Biotechnology and assisted a preclinical research
study entitled "Anti-arthritic activity of fenugreek on arthritic
rat".
> K. N. K. College of Horticulture, Mandsaur [M.P.](June 2011):
Learned the skills of tissue culture/micropropagation of Sandalwood
(Santalum album L.) under Dr. S. N. Mishra,Principal scientist, M &
AP, Project,College of Horticulture, Mandsaur [M.P.].
PROJECTS
> Minor Project: "Expression, purification and crystallization of RecQ1
helicase" in which Expression of human RecQ1 helicase was attempted in
bacterial host. It was found that the protein is getting over- expressed,
however, most of the protein goes in insoluble inclusion body. Various
attempts were made to bring maximum protein in soluble fraction by
lowering the temperature after induction, reducing the amount of IPTG,
changing the growth medium, etc. Best results were obtained when
temperature after induction was reduced to 15oC and 3% alcohol was added
to the growth medium. Small amount of protein was purified from the
soluble fraction, although the amount was not sufficient to carry out
crystallization trials. Efforts were also put in to extract the protein
from inclusion bodies.
If the crystals would have been produced then they would be used to
screen potent inhibitors which have been obtained in the laboratory
earlier from virtual screening of seven million of compounds. Thus to
study how these novel inhibitors are binding to the protein as it has
been found recently that inhibition of RecQ1 in cancer cells renders them
sensitive towards ionizing radiations while sparing the normal cells.
Thus it will have tremendous therapeutic implication, especially in case
of pancreatic cancer and will help mankind.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY

enrolment number as LFS2359 under Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Scientific officer
(G), Solid state physics division,Protein crystallography section, BARC,
Mumbai.
