Designed, implemented, managed and improved
upon quality management systems (QMS),
meeting/exceeding customer/regulatory
requirements and product/quality standards
for global leaders, including ABB, Inc., L-3
Communications and Texas Instruments (TI).
Proven record of increasing efficiencies and
containing costs, while increasing customer
satisfaction, improving profitability and
minimizing risk. Can contribute immediately
by:
* Reengineering systems and processes to
improve productivity and quality
* Devising and conducting LEAN and Six Sigma
practices to reduce waste
* Defining and implementing metrics and
standards to improve QMS performance
* Leading, training and mentoring staff and
suppliers in quality requirements
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
that promote collaboration and consensus
building and drive results with key internal
and external stakeholders. BA,
Microbiology/Chemistry, Texas Tech
University. Food Technology, Texas Tech
University (no degree). ASQ CQE, 30819 (not
current). Secret Clearance (active).
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Led ISO certification, standardizing quality
systems between four L-3 technologies. L-3
Communications needed to standardize quality
systems. Served as quality engineer for each
site. Selected registrars. Standardized
each QMS. Coordinated final documentation and
ISO 9001:2008 certifications. Improved
acquisition process.
Eliminated major ISO audit findings with new
QMS and training systems. ABB ISO 9001:2008
audit yielded major findings indicating
absence of training and quality management
system (QMS). Rewrote QMS, established new
training specs and initiated dashboard with
management review process. No findings in
subsequent audits.
Brought TI into compliance with ISO
automotive standard, improving quality to
99.5%. Company inspected and shipped product
to 1% AQL level instead of required 100%
inspection. Automated inspection process.
Added defect engineer and three automation
tools. Established a Microsoft project.
Required no additional staff.
Revamped TI international wafer shipping
process, reducing scrap 67%. Wafers suffered
breakage after shipping. Led major Kaizen
effort in Malaysia with box supplier, fabs,
quality managers, purchasing, facilities and
DHL. Created new box, changed international
shipment methods and automated packing.
Lowered breakage.
Created consensus standard, enabling multi-
fab metrology equipment calibration
compliance. Worked with engineering on
several types of measuring equipment for
which limited NIST standards were available.
Created and moved consensus standards across
fabs. Established software reporting effort
to demonstrate control.
Unique approach reduces Lexmark wafer mixing
events from 2% to 0%. TI wafer building
process for Lexmark printer supplier incurred
wafer mix that impacted assembly process.
Established checking procedure at outgoing
inspection process. Incented inspectors to
identify root cause, leading to permanent
corrective action.
