Key Accomplishments

exceeded QS 9000 requirements.
o In 1997, at the SPX Metal Forge Company, implemented Lean Manufacturing

reduction in non-value added costs.
o In 1995, and again in 2003, successfully negotiated two individual three-
year Union contracts.
o Successfully managed the closure and transfer of product and equipment
from the Louisville Ladder Manufacturing Plant to Monterrey, Mexico.
o In 1994 supervised the Glacier Vandervell Joint Venture Team that
interfaced between Honda of Japan's hosts Company Diado with Honda of

2011 - 2013
Employment started as Production Manager in April 2011. YFB is a Tier 2
manufacturer of steel backing plates, "brake shoes" supplying the
automotive industries; and on December 2011 was promoted to Plant Manager.
Our Manufacturing Team increased the manufacturing of the steel backing
plates from 2.5 million / month to 6.2 million / month in 2012 through to
2013. Responsibilities included Die Shop, Maintenance, Manufacturing,
Shipping / Receiving, and Production Control and Scheduling Departments, as
well as, the project leader for the construction of a $1.5 million building
expansion.
Metal Sales Manufacturing
2005-2010
Production Manager/Sellersburg, IN
Production Manager for this non-union, family owned, Metal Forming
operation, producing Agricultural and commercial roofing panel.
Responsibilities include overseeing the Manufacturing, Quality, Human
Resource, Maintenance, and Scheduling Departments. Current focus is on
introducing Lean Manufacturing Concepts with particular attention to
implementation of inline quality inspection process to replace manual
reporting system. Duties associated with the Production Scheduling System
included backup for our AMS programs.
Louisville Ladder Group, Louisville, KY 2000 - 2004
Plant Manager / National Warehouse Manager
Plant Manager for the second largest manufacturer of ladders in North
America, overseeing a 225 employee union operation. Responsibilities
included the manufacturing of fiberglass and aluminum ladders and the
fabrication and e-coating of steel climbing units. After successfully
shutting down and transferring manufacturing to Mexico, took over the
National Warehouse operations reducing fixed assets of all LLG's warehouses
through re-negotiating existing long-term contracts and downsizing each
warehouse operation. Accomplishments:
. Teaming with the Industrial Engineering Department developed a
Capacity Planning Matrix for all of the manufacturing departments.
. Successfully managed the closure and transfer of product and equipment

SPX, Metal Forge Company, Clarksville, TN 1995 - 2000
Director of Operations
SPX is a Tier-1 automotive suspension components' supplier to Chrysler,
Toyota, Nissan and Honda. As the Director of Operations my
responsibilities included manufacturing, production control and planning,
engineering, quality control, maintenance, purchasing, shipping and
receiving, and plant environment, for this cold metal forging operation,
with dotted line authority for Human Resources and Finance.
Key accomplishments:
. Maintained the P&L performance of the plant showing a profit each
year.
. Developed a unique method for controlling purchases based on earned
hours with a dollar multiplier formula.
. Successfully converted this old bicycle crank manufacturing plant to a
tier one manufacturing supplier of automotive parts without any
delivery interruptions and below budget.
. Established cellular manufacturing concepts, implemented Lean
Manufacturing Techniques, introduced new QS 9000 Quality Systems, and
in-line inspections system, that resulted in a 35% reduction in non-
value added costs with an overall increase in productivity of 45%
compared to the previous union operation.
Glacier Vandervell Inc., Bellefontaine, OH 1989 - 1994
Operations Manager
Glacier was a Tier-1 manufacturing company that produced copper lead and
aluminum engine bearings for the major OEM and After-Market customers.
This high volume plant produced an average of six million half-shell
bearings per month, including heavy-duty rods and main bearings currently
used in NASCAR racing. Responsibilities included managing the 476 non-
union reports for all facility departments including the manufacturing of
copper lead powders and aluminum powder coating operations.
Key accomplishments:
. Maintained the P&L performance of the plant showing a 3% profit
increase each year.
. Achieved a 36% reduction in non-value added costs with the
manufacturing process through streamlining the planning, scheduling,
and purchasing functions.
. Enhanced the plant's material control process through the introduction
of cellular manufacturing, capacity planning techniques, and JIT
concepts.
. Successfully led a seven-member team in achieving the necessary
certifications to supply engine bearings to Honda of America.
Traveled to Japan to train with the Third Party Associate Diado on
manufacturing processes, support operations, planning and scheduling
systems.
AMERICAN STANDARD, INC., LOUISVILLE, KY 1977 - 1988
Plant Manager
Responsible for the manufacturing of cast iron bathtubs and small-ware at
this 640-employee facility, that included sixteen separate unions.
Started with company as a 2nd shift Supervisor in the Mill Room. Held
positions as General Foreman, Production Control Manager, Plant
