CAREER SUMMARY
20+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience managing diverse groups
of people ranging from the inexperienced to the highly experienced well
seasoned employee, in both union and non-union environments. Expertise in
facilitating change in a work force to support operating, financial, and
quality objectives of the organization. Demonstrated ability to motivate
teams in order to maximize productivity, control costs, and enhance quality
through the most effective uses of manpower and available resources.
Highlights of Experience
. Product Launch: led new model Launch Teams for the Ford Taurus and
Crown Victoria
. Capacity and Budgetary Planning: Built automated production report
applications for die set, 5-year Business plan
. High and Low Volume Manufacturing
. Process Budgetary Planning Performance Metrics
. Six Sigma Green Belt: Utilizing Six Sigma eliminated scrapping a large
cutout on a body side blank by using the piece for a small part we
were buying blank steel. Also by changing the gauging in the small
part die, this resulted in $250,000 of savings in the first year of
implementation.
. Cost Saving Initiatives Continuous Improvement Methodologies: had
press parts stored in basement, had parts labeled to what presses they
were for and found many parts for presses we no longer had. Sold
parts back to suppliers at lower amount, company received almost
$1,000,000 from the sales.
. Increased production by 50% on select jobs with a program change in
the press exit conveyor system to double stack parts which increased
workflow changes with no increase of manpower requirements.
. Improved and maintained the customer on-time rate goal of at least 95%
from the prior rate of less than 80%. Accomplished by forming teams
that analyzed inventory lead times, cycle/setup times for product
mixes, and customer demand, to develop a more organized and
streamlined process.
. Accomplished 95% decrease in hand cuts by utilizing Kevlar gloves in
areas that were determined as high risk areas during accident
investigations.
. Enhanced morale and shop floor/union relationship with the company.
Conducted one-on-one personal computer training sessions with direct
reports this alleviated many computer related frustrations and
misconceptions. Setup shop floor computers and associated high use
forms (i.e. time sheets, inspection sheets, and quality check sheets),
to be more accessible and user friendly.
. Experienced in metal stamping from very small parts to large vehicle
body-sides, and assembly using Lean Manufacturing Principles and Six
Sigma for Continuous Improvement, used SPC to track performance of
product assembly process.
. Leveraged my supervisory skills in Product Development, Budgeting,
Cost Control, Inventory Management, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S, to
improve costs.

Process Improvement, ISO, Supply Chain Management, Root Cause Analysis
and Six Sigma.
