I performed all areas of general dentistry (preventive, restorative,

endodontic, periodontic, prosthetic and surgery. Treatment includes

explaining diagnosis and treatment plan and alternatives to patients, light

scaling and prophylaxis (with or without fluoride), anesthetizing with

local anesthetic, restorative treatment with amalgam and composite,

anterior and posterior root canal treatment, pulpotomy, direct and indirect

pulp capping, space maintainer fitting and cementation, preparation and

delivery of crown and bridges, impression, delivery and adjustment of

complete and partial dentures, scaling and root planning, gingivectomy,

removal of uncomplicated partial or soft tissue impacted teeth, simple and

surgical extraction. I train dental assistants from ROP (Regional

Occupational Program) located in the Hesperia, CA. I am in-charge of the

dental assistants and front office personnel making sure they do their job

correctly. I advice the executive director as to materials, equipment and

technology needed in the office.

Western University of Health Sciences College of Dentistry - Pomona, CA

Victor Valley Community Dental Service Program is an extramural facility

for Western University of Health Sciences College of Dentistry. Senior

students are assigned to the office to do their required off-site rotation.

I supervise and assess the students that are assigned to me in all dental

work from diagnosis to actual treatment. I discuss cases they have

encountered or I have encountered which I know they can learn from. The

goal of the rotation is allow the students to experience practicing

dentistry out of the school setting. I give them the chance to think

independently and troubleshoot for themselves. As their supervisor, I will

assist them in treatment when students are having difficulties. Every week,

I submit an online weekly review of each student.

As a general dentist, I performed diagnostic, preventive, restorative,

endodontic, periodontic, prosthetic and surgical

procedures. Treatment performed includes explaining to patient treatment

recommendations, light scaling and prophylaxis, injecting local anesthetic,

restoring teeth with amalgam and composite, direct and indirect pulp

surgical extractions. I provide the necessary documentation for each case.

I, also help the dental assistants when they are having difficulties taking

x-rays.

Community Service

In 2004, I went to Hesperia Elementary Schools and did dental screenings

for their students. In 2010, I did dental screenings for Barstow Elementary

Schools.

In 2012, I did free screenings at a Health Fair in Hesperia, CA.

Every year, since 2009, the office participates in "Give a Kid a Smile"

day. I screen and perform limited treatment for children who are uninsured.

Victor Valley Community Dental Service Program is a non-profit organization

that helps adults who are uninsured to have free limited dental treatment

with the agreement that patients do at least 8 hours of community service.
