Director, Quality & Marketing, Transport Aircraft Division (TAD) of

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), India (July 2000-Januaray 2013):

. Multi-Role Responsibility for Production, Quality Assurance

aspects, Technical Services for aircraft, currently in production

under license production from erstwhile M/s Dornier, Germany.

. Headed the Marketing and Customer Services department of HAL, and

developed new business opportunities, customer engagements &

interaction, coordination with Government agencies and business

negotiations with licensors. Worked closely with Sales as Liaison

to set & define strategy and assist with contract negotiations.

. Led a team to prepare Quality Manual, Control Procedures and

Environmental System Manual (s) to obtain ISO9001: 2008 and

ISO1401: 2004 certification for HAL.

. Led and guided a team to prepare the documentation and associated

activities to obtain AS9100C Certification in September 2011.

. Led a team to prepare Production Organization Exposition (POE) and

PO-DO (Production Organization-Design Organization) agreement with

M/s RUAG, Germany to obtain EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency)

Part 21 Sub Part G certification in 2007 for the export of Front

Fuselage, Rear Fuselage, Wings, Rudder and Tail section

assemblies.

Chief Manager, Avionics Division of HAL, India (January 1982-July

2000)

a) Responsible for managing the Development of Avionics Systems based

on dual redundant data bus for aircraft, as listed below:

. Project planning for license production of INS (Inertial

Navigation System) from erstwhile M/s SAGEM, France (Now a part of

Safran Group).

. Project planning for license production of Head Up Display from

erstwhile M/s Smiths Industries, Cheltenham, U.K.

. LRMTS (Laser ranger & Marked Target Seeker) & FDR (Flight Data

Recorder) under license from erstwhile M/s Ferranti, U.K (Now a

part of BAe, Aerospace).

b) Head of the Marketing and Customer Services department.

(c) Implementation of Quality Assurance program of the Avionics

division.

Smiths Industries (Now a part of GE Aviation), Cheltenham, United

Kingdom (April 1985-April 1986)

Worked with a team of erstwhile M/s Smiths, UK Industries engineers to

develop the software of Automatic Test Station (ATE) based on IEEE-488

for testing of HUDWAC Electronic Unit.

Jr. Scientific Officer, Defense Electronics and Applications

Laboratory, India (January 1977- December 1981)

My responsibilities included the design and development of the

following systems:

. 9.6 Kbps modem for telephone lines using Quadrature Amplitude

Shift Keying (QASK) technique and 32 bit Adaptive Equalizer, which

were developed successfully.

. Development of a secure satellite channel SSMA (Spread Spectrum

Multiple Accessing) communication Modem. This was successfully

developed by digitizing 40Kbps (Adaptive Delta Modulation) voice

signal, spread over 40MHz spectral bandwidth, using a 20Mbps P-N

(Pseudo-Random) sequence modulator. Demodulator circuitry was

designed to obtain a 3 level synchronization i.e. the code

synchronization using a sliding correaltor, the code clock

synchronization using a Delay Locked Loop and clock

synchronization for 40 Kbps voice data.

Jr. Research Assistant, IIT Delhi, India (Feb.1976- Jan.1977)

Worked in the School of Tribology Dynamics Design and Research and

designed a system to detect and predict the imminent failure of

rotating machines by analyzing the sound spectrum.
