Biography
Doug Cooper has more than 25 years of Consulting and Industry experience
in the Higher Education, Manufacturing, Energy, Cable, Air Freight and Rail
Transport, Financial Services, and CPG/Retail sectors and has executive
experience in supply chain, procurement, marketing, and finance with multi-
plant, national and international corporations.
His consulting experience began with PricewaterhouseCoopers in its Full
Value Procurement practice, producing offerings in Strategic Sourcing,
Procurement Strategy and Organization, Supply Chain Process Review and
Diagnostics, and Procurement Technology (including Ariba, Ketera, ePlus,
and Emptoris) Spend Analysis and Leveraged Procurement Services. His work
continued with IBM and currently with SKByron Consulting in Procurement,
Supply Chain, and Business Transformation.
Before joining PWC, Mr. Cooper served in managerial and executive
capacities in procurement and supply chain for approximately 15 years in
which he led sourcing and purchasing operations for the Illinois Central
Gulf Railroad, Trans World Airlines, Long Island Lighting Company, IMC
Vigoro, and most recently at Kaplan, Inc. and Barry University.
Mr. Cooper held faculty positions at Syracuse University, Adam Mickiewicz
University and St. Mary's College and has been an invited speaker at
student and professional seminars and at industry conventions, presenting
topics ranging from Capital Budgeting, Product Development, eCommerce, and
Strategic Sourcing methodologies.
