Core Competencies
. Creative Problem Solving
. Drafting (ASME & ISO Standards)
. Geometric Dimensioning & Toleranceing
. Production Efficiency Improvements
. Multi-Project Coordination
. Team Building Acumen
. Effective Communicator
. Efficient Time Management
Engineering Experience
Mechanical Engineer (E2) - Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control,
Orlando, FL 2007 - 2011
. Performed precision mechanical design functions for Ground Sensor Systems
(GSS) electro-optical targeting system line of sight directors,
implementing design for manufacturability, design for assembly, and design
for target cost principles within an integrated product team environment.
Supported conceptual and detailed design, drawing creation and
documentation, BOM management, and design review efforts.
. Served as the primary mechanical focal point for the integration of the
first two GSS Medium Range Electro-Optical (MREO) line of sight director
units. Supported assembly, while identifying and evaluating the
consequence of hardware defects, design oversights, and inconsistencies
between the manufacturing process plan and the design intent. Worked/
coordinated the timely completion of required design changes, quality
defect resolutions, and the formal release of top level assembly drawings
to meet aggressively set system delivery dates.
. Worked closely with vendors and manufacturers to develop unique design
solutions, resolve manufacturing issues, and communicate performance,
tolerance, schedule, and interface requirements of various forms of
hardware.
. Served as engineering liaison for the high output Hellfire II missile
production. Solved manufacturing issues and reviewed assembly line
practices to improve production efficiency and reduce cost while
maintaining or improving product quality.
. Designed and coordinated the construction of a direct measurement test
station, including large equipment held to optical level tolerances, for
the Gunship Multi-Spectral Electro Optical Sensor program.
College Student Technical Specialist - Lockheed Martin MFC, Orlando, FL
May - August 2006
. Designed tooling, production operation, and test equipment for the Joint
Strike Fighter Electro-Optical Targeting System (JSF-EOTS) program.
College Student Technical Specialist - Lockheed Martin MFC, Orlando, FL
May - August 2005
. Supported drawing and parts list changes of electronic packaging
components for JSF-EOTS and Advanced Targeting Pod programs.
Management Experience
Division Manager - Wilder Corporation, McLaughlin, SD 2012 - Present
. Oversee a 24,000 acre 3000-4000 head buffalo ranch.
. Manage 6 full time employees.
. Maintain and service a fleet of over 30 tractors, pay-loaders and semis,
along with other large-scale farm equipment.
. At the time of my arrival, the ranch had been monitored by a state
appointed veterinary investigator for three years due to poor management.
Within six months the investigation was closed as a result of improvements
in equipment, infrastructure, personnel, and general ranch practices.
Accomplishments
. Designed unique elastomeric vibration isolation systems for GSS MREO -
Manned and Unmanned Ground Vehicle targeting systems (MGV and UGV).
Lockheed Martin Instant and Special Recognition awards received for these
two designs respectively.
. Lead the mechanical design, procurement, and integration of GSS MREO-MGV
isolation system shock and endurance vibration test equipment. A Lockheed
Martin Special Recognition Award was received for this effort.
Programming and Software Skills
Highly proficient with Pro/Engineer, Pro/Intralink, MathCAD, Matlab, and
full Microsoft Office Suite.
Education
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering - Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL
. Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.9 / 4.0 GPA.
. Minor Degree in Physics
