Database Consultant

Cook County has around 40.5 percent of all Illinois residents. Cook County's population is

larger than that of 29 individual US states and the combined populations of the seven smallest

states. There are over 130 incorporated municipalities in Cook County, the largest of which is

Chicago, which makes up approximately 54% of the population of the county.

Responsibilities:

Worked with Data Modeling and handling OLTP Databases and ability to design

databases upon requirements.

Involved in Normalization and De-Normalization of existing tables for faster query

retrieval.

Created daily queries involving self joins, correlated sub-queries, CTE and XML

techniques for diverse business requirement. Tuned and optimized queries by altering

Database Developer

Far East New Creation Company is an agency company of NOTIFIER in China area. The

Company develops, manufactures and markets fire alarm systems and all kinds of sensors. The

project was to work on the Supply and Distribution of products. It involved transferring data

using SSIS packages and optimizing database performance. Generating reports on a monthly

basis for managers to keep track of distribution.

Responsibilities:

Involved in migrating data from various sources into the SQL Server 2005 using ETL

(Extract, Transform, Load) tool SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

Migrated from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 to SQL Server

2012.

All data were migrated to the staging server and then those data were later populated to the

OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) Server to use with SSAS for analysis purpose.

Involved in reporting solutions to improve asset management, incident management, data

center services, system events support and billing.

Successfully migrated data between heterogeneous sources such as flat file, Excel and SQL

Server 2008 using SSIS, BCP (Bulk Copy Program) and Bulk Insert.
