EXPERIENCE

Musician since childhood. I learned basic guitar when I was only ten years old, but the guitar didn’t fill my taste, so I changed my instrument for a piano. When I was 12 years old I started private lessons of piano, musical theory and musical reading completing 4 years of classical piano, after that, using my knowledge as a pianist and musical reader, I started playing the piano as a professional with small bands of jazz, playing instrumental music, then I joined a Big Band Orchestra in Santa Clara City, Villa Clara, Cuba; playing in Nocturnal Cabaret Shows called “Venecia”. The Director of this Orchestra was a orchestration, composition and harmony Teacher in a School called “ Centro de Superacion Profesional” where I complete 3 years of Composition and Orchestration. Exiled in USA since 1995, I found job playing piano and arranging music for a Salsa Orchestra called “Sensacion” performing in “Sabado Gigante” and Night Clubs like “Club Mystique” located in the Airport Hilton in Blue Lagoon. After 2001 the orchestra disappear and I started playing as a piano bar, but composing songs for Churches and arranging for Christian Music. Right now i’m looking for a new opportunity to work in my life passion, composition. I count with my 43 years old with at least 20 years of experience Composing, Arranging and Transcribing music. In classical music I keep interest, composing for Symphonic and Chamber Orchestras by my own, using Notion Music Notation Software. The last work I released for a cuban soprano: Anabelen Rodriguez is a 6/8 zapateo called: “Musica Mia” Lyrics and Melody by Zenia Cruz: orchestrated for a Chamber Orchestra with the addition of two trumpets, two trombones, one oboe, two clarinets, one bassoon, and afro-cuban percussion.
