The textile plant (Dominican Knits Inc.) performs knitting, dyeing, bleaching, finishing and cutting at a capacity of 250K pounds per week. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, yarn purchasing, production/inventory control, customer service and fabric sales.
Manage customer order entry function that feeds the interger information into our Textile Integrated Manufacturing (TIM) system driving the materials requirement planning, master planning schedule, capacity planning and work center loading. Monitor performance indices to maintain on-time schedule adherence and delivery performance.
Improved lead time through reduction of production cycle time from 4.0 to 2.5 weeks increasing the inventory rotation and giving better deliveries to the customers. The production chain includes knitting, bleaching/dyeing, finishing, and cutting operations.
Reduced inventory from 1.8 to 0.5 weeks improving the cash flow of the company.
Improved on-time delivery from an average 65% to 95%.
ODRACIR, S.A., Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic • 2004-2007
Operation Manager: Odracir, S.A. was a textile manufacturer of knits fabrics for the local market and garment exporters. Responsibilities included operations of knitting, dyeing and finishing, engineering, quality control, costing, materials management, customer service, fabric sales and labor relations.

DOMINICAN KNITS/GRUPOM INDUSTRIES. Santiago, Dominican Republic • 1993-2004
Planning Manager: Initiated and organized the planning department of the textile plant (Dominican Knits). Created and implemented procedures related with planning, operations, material handling, customer and production orders, product development and warehousing. Implemented the installation and integration of TIM (Textile Integrated Manufacturing by Datatex) software. This system handles all the customer orders, inventories, fabrics specifications, dyeing recipes, costing, and invoicing.
Method Engineer: Responsibilities initially included primarily industrial engineer function for plant lay out, modules set up, job measurement labor/production standards, waste reduction.
Developed the payment system and incentive program for the sewing modules.
