Hired to fix a highly ambiguous Engineering Change Process and help move
the company off Excel spreadsheets and into Agile (PLM) where a more
defined and robust process would allow the company to scale alongside the
onslaught of new product launches. Introduced the use of "material
disposition" to the change process, defined the requirement, and created
the "how to" help instruction. Defined the requirements for writing an
accurate and meaningful Reason and Description of Change. Wrote the Core
Business Doctrine that defined the Configuration Management (CM) Charter
and set forth the foundation by which the company will effectively manage
Lab126 product data through a defined change and execution process
(overarching Level II document). Lead the team to completely rewrite the CM
Standards - a series of the what (Level III definition documents) and how
to (Level IV work instructions) that defined Change Management, BOM
Management, Item Creation, Item Lifecycle. Provided daily training and
guidance to Change Originators; review Engineering Changes for accuracy,
completeness, and compliance to standards. Training Peers, Subordinates,

Responsible for defining and documenting department protocol through the
creation of processes and that are clear, concise, and valid. Train and
lead existing personnel in new techniques and best practices, manage Arena

5/12
Responsible for manufacturing activities associated with managing the
product life cycle from concept commit through end-of-life. Lead Analyst
for all new, and the most difficult product launches. Department lead for
the following activities: Lead two successful Agile upgrades to 9.2 & 9.3,
tested the upgrade in the development database and trained Agile users
prior to production launch.
. Originally self-taught Agile administrator duties, followed by formal
completion of Agile Administrator 9.3.1 training through Oracle
University. Experience with user groups, roles/privileges, criteria,
data lists, workflow, view creation, and user accounts.

Senior ECO Analyst - Adaptec Inc., Milpitas, CA 3/97 to 7/06
Responsible for NPI (New Product Introduction), BOM compilation and cross-
functional team coordination with relation to product launch activities. As
an NPI Specialist acted within highly cross-functional teams comprised of
Product Marketing, Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing Operations, CM's
(Contract Manufacturers), and ODM's (Original Design Manufacturers) to
coordinate activities within the team that resulted in the designing of
assemblies, identification of suppliers, creation of BOM structure and
initialization of the manufacturing process through the creation of ECO's.
Sustaining support; analyze and process ECO's, MCO's, ECR's, Stop Orders
and Temporary Deviations related to components, firmware, software,
specification control drawings, quality system documentation, and product
documentation in accordance with configuration management best practices
and procedures. Verify that proposed changes conform to Configuration
Management interchangeability rules.
. Project lead for RoHS conversion. Awarded $200.00 recognition bonus.
. Implemented pilot and production release meetings and created a
checklist which allowed tracking of required deliverables and long
lead items, reducing ECO cycle time to manufacturing by two to three
weeks while providing transparency for late deliverables delaying
product launch.
. Established a curriculum and wrote the training materials for a class
to teach all ECO Analysts and support functions how to use AutoCAD
release 13, cost savings of more than $50K, awarded $500 recognition
bonus.
. Project lead for major PDM changes and consolidation during corporate
mergers and acquisitions, assuring smooth transition into the MRP
system and out to manufacturing.
. Responsible for coordinating the activity associated with the
corporate conversion from an in-house manufacturing facility to a CM
model. Worked with CM's, Procurement, and Agile Administrator to
document the new Agile CM ECO flow. Taught classes to affected parties
to define roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
ECO Analyst (Lead) / Mechanical Designer - Applied Materials Inc., Santa
Clara, CA 8/94 to 3/97
Hired as a Mechanical Designer. After six months of demonstrated expertise
in drafting standards, geometric tolerance, ECO/BOM knowledge, and
leadership skills, promoted to Engineering Services Lead over the
ECO/Drawing Checkers, Drafters, and File Manager. Primary duty was to
oversee the daily work schedules of twelve people and ensure that ECO's
were processed with integrity and completeness in a timely manner while
adhering to form, fit & function rules, ASME Y14.5 1994, and corporate
standards. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training all new ECO
checkers and drafters on company procedures, GECO (global ECO), and
processes within the department. Created tests scenarios used for hiring
all new ECO checkers and drafters. Checked thousands of ECO's and CES's to
maintain backlog and expedite changes to manufacturing. Chaired CCB
meetings prior to on-line global ECO implementation. Wrote desktop
procedures and manuals and documented the department processes in
preparation for ISO 9000.
. Project Manager for drawing database consolidation. Led cross-
functional team of core contributors to create a single depository for
all drawings and supporting documentation. Eliminated the problem of
having multiple versions of a drawing at the same revision level.
Created a single file naming procedure that reduced confusion and
negated the need for multiple decoder sheets, awarded $100 dinner
certificate.
. Wrote the curriculum and taught classes for writing error free ECO's
to all engineers responsible for ECO creation, thus reducing ECO
rejection and cycle time to implementation by greater than 50%.
. Served on numerous teams to redesign the ECO process to reduce cycle

Design and draft plastic injection molds and associated assembly
components, I.e. heating platens, runners, plungers, ejection tooling, etc.
