Senior IT PM managing EDI/Claims projects, in the Health Plan Claims and EDI organization, under Kaiser’s
high visibility national claims system initiative. The role involved end to end delivery of projects, requiring the
application of advanced project management practices and experience to ensure proactive action, testing
coordination and defect management, effective communication, project budget management, resource
management and change management.
WellPoint, Woodland Hills, CA: May 2011 – May 2012
Senior IT PM managing a CMS project under the ICD10 umbrella. This was a lean IT initiative aimed at sending
encounters and claims data to CMS in the 5010 ANSI 837 format. The project leveraged existing SSB data
warehouse architecture to construct 5010 data that is processed by Enterprise EDI and sent to CMS. The project
also involved creation of an EDI Repository and model changes to the enterprise data warehouse which is the
source of truth for claims data. Also managed an infrastructure buildout initiative for ICD10 test environments
across various functional applications and projects in the ICD10 program.
WellPoint, Thousand Oaks, CA: April – December 2010
Senior Project Manager, in the IT Project & Portfolio Management area, involved in managing a Lean IT initiative
for a migration project. The objective was to migrate an end-to-end Dental system from a proprietary platform to
Anthem systems. The project was executed based on an iterative paradigm, using Rational RequisitePro for
Requirements Management and Rational Quality Manager for Test Management, and several key areas such as
Membership, Claims, Broker Systems, EDI, eBusiness Provider Portal, Provider System, etc. Involved in overall

documentation, and built a team working with the Finance & Analytics Services (FAS) group (a KPO organization

Senior Business Project Manager in the Senior Services PMO, managing a fast track, high visibility compliance
project to implement a consistent billing process, improve premium calculation and change the billing cycle to
send bills prospectively. Championed a Senior Medicare Advantage project aimed at completing requirements
analysis to migrate an existing product to a new platform in 2008. The project, which primarily centered on
working with an internal vendor, also involved completing compliance related requirements aimed at minimizing
manual processing on the current platform.
