EDUCATION

M.S. Mechanical Engineering, Bradley University, Peoria, IL GPA: 3.5/4.0

(Jan '12-May '14)

PROJECTS

(Dec '13 - May'14)

Manufacturing of Corrugated Fins with Fin Folding Machine Using LABVIEW

8.5.

. Redesigned the Fin Folding machine to create a different type of fin

than what it was originally designed for.

. Fabricated the punch and Programmed the Machine Using LABVIEW.

. Designed a 3-D Model using PRO/E for making a new Punch to produce new

set of Fins.

. Worked on 4 Axis CNC machine and Electric Discharge Machining(EDM)

machine for fabricating the Punch .

. Used Automation Software LABVIEW 8.5 to make fins of required

specifications.

To Analyze the performance of the Operators using Control Charts.

(Feb '14 - May'14)

The Objective is to Find If the process is in Control and to and to

decide on the Quality Improvement Team.

. Used Control Charts to Monitor Manufacturing process.

. Plotted Statistical charts for a group of 5 readings from the data

obtained.

. Used MINITAB to Plot the Statistical charts from the data Obtained

from the supplier.

. Compared the Readings from the Statistical charts and proposed the

best Quality Improvement Team for the Company.

Intermediate Heat Transfer:

(Aug '13 - Dec'13)

. Design of parallel flow, counter flow and mixed flow heat exchanger

network to achieve a desired output.

. Heat capacities of fluids were split to meet the given requirements.

. MS Excel was made use of to calculate the efficiency of the heat

exchanger network.

. The potential for entropy generation due to mixing was minimized. The

area of the heat exchanger was minimized and the efficiency was

maximized for the heat exchanger design.

Intermediate Fluid Mechanics:

(June '13 - Aug'13)

. Calculated the mean temperature and Nusselt number for a pipe.

. plotted the Nusselt number along the pipe to compare with analytical

solution.

. Used Fluent Software to find the final Velocity of Mixed Fluids.

B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Karpagam College of Engineering GPA: 7.5/10

(Aug '2009 -Apr '11)

Project on Welding and testing using agglomerated flux.

(Jan '2010 -Apr '11)

. Presented a paper on ADVANCES IN WELDING TECHNOLOGY

. The project was on Welding and Testing of Boiler components using

Agglomerated Flux

. The aim was to Produce weld deposits of better Ductility and Impact

Strength and to reduce the cost of the welding.

. This project was carried out in BHEL(Bharat heavy electrical limited)

which is one of the only four Indian companies and the only Indian

Public Sector Enterprise figuring in 'The Global Innovation 1000' of

Booz & Co., a list of 1,000 publicly traded companies which are the

biggest spenders on R&D in the world.
