Known as an excellent team player with a great attitude, I am seeking a position to allow me to use all my skills to contribute

to the profitability of an enterprise. My skills range from Full Charge Bookkeeper through Project Accountant, Senior Accountant and

Senior Financial Analyst.

My education began with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from

California State University, Sacramento and has expanded over the years through reading and experience. I have a love of computers

and feel very comfortable learning new programs and developing better ways to accomplish the goals of the projects I’m

involved in. My Excel skills are one of my best assets, especially Pivot tables and lookup functions.

The largest chunk of my experience was as a Full Charge Bookkeeper. As one of the owners of a printing business I was

responsible for all of the financial aspects of a business: Sales, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Payroll,

Financial reporting, Sales Audits, Taxes, Client Service, Setting up bank accounts, Arranging for the ability to accept credit cards,

business licenses and business filings. Choosing computer equipment and which software programs to use was a valuable experience.

Supervising the graphics department employees and being the resident computer guru were part of the fun, as well as learning to be a

graphic artist.

Over the years I’ve used a variety of accounting software: SAP, Lawson, AS400, Peachtree, and custom software. I’ve been

part of the team during several transitions from one kind to another. Pulling data from other sources and performing analysis is a great

way to spend a workday. I have an affinity to computers and electronics and look forward to learning new things.

I love a challenge. I have created a Filemaker Pro database to pull together information from two sources to clear a backlog of two

years of suspense when I was at Universal Studios Hollywood. Choosing the program to bring the information together, designing the

database and reports were a thrilling challenge and supervising the temps who helped me accomplish the reconciliation of

transactions was very satisfying. I enjoy exercising my creative side.

Project Accounting was a skill I developed by closing dozens of old capitol projects and then creating, managing and closing

Entertainment Projects at Universal Studios Hollywood. One of the highlights of my project closing was the discovery of a $90k error

in a project due to currency translation.

During a recent project for Capitol Studios and Mastering, I collected almost $200k in Accounts Receivable, which was over a

year old, writing off only $15k. It was such a sweet reminder of the skills, which had languished for a number of years. The cold

calling of clients, the tracking of what should have happened in our records and what didn’t, then correcting the source data was very

rewarding.

While at Lawry’s Prime Rib corporate headquarters my primary task was Reconciliations. I did many months worth of bank

reconciliations, payroll reconciliations, event reconciliations, gift certificate reconciliations and anything else they could find. Then I

went to Universal Studios Hollywood and closed Capitol Projects, which required a lot of reconciling. While at USH one of my

projects, was to clear a communications account, which had grown over the years. It was my task to find a home for all the

miscellaneous phones billed to that account. The temp before me had worked many months without much progress, but I finished the

task in two months due to the contacts I’d made while performing the project closeouts.

More than 204 Month End Closes performed for Universal and EMI Music have prepared me for almost anything that can go

wrong in the close process. I’ve participated in more than 17 Annual Budgets and many years of Variance Analysis.

I was a Senior Accountant in Shared Accounting at EMI Music for 2 years with all the reconciliation, journal adjustments,

accruals, and reviews that go with that position.

During my five years as a Senior Financial Analyst at EMI Music, one of my main tasks was the forecasting of digital sales on

a consolidated basis for reporting to corporate. Actually my job was to maintain and update the complex models that were used to

combine the data from multiple sources to predict future outcomes and then check the predictions against what actually happened.
