Employment History

KW Controls: Venice, FL October 2012 to May 2013

Controls Engineer: Responsible for developing PLC code and HMI interface for reverse osmosis water treatment

systems using various Allen Bradley PLCs and a number of different SCADA or HMI software packages but

typically RSView32 or FactoryTalk View Studio. I was tasked with a number of different water treatment projects that

were either upgrades of old systems or completely new systems. In each case I would develop all the software,

complete the field installation of the software, startup any instrumentation and controls equipment, tune control

loops for proper system operation and provide Operator training.

Methodworks, LLC: Nampa, ID March 2001 to June 2011

Manager: Started Methodworks, an industrial systems integration firm providing software and I&C systems

integration for the water and wastewater industries. Since its inception our focus has expanded to include many

other industries where our experience can be of value. Our primary goal is to deliver user friendly, fault tolerant

industrial control systems that provide all of the necessary data to optimally control and maintain a facility and its

processes. We achieve this goal by using proven methods of creation, delivery, training and support of Supervisory

Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA), Human Machine Interface (HMI), and Process Control and

Automation systems.

City of Boise: Boise, Idaho January 2000 to December 2000

PLC Analyst: Responsible for Wonderware and Allen Bradley PLC programming of new and old wastewater

treatment control systems. I typically re program systems that have had long term reliability and control problems. I

have taken an active role in the programming and startup for the new treatment plant. The last project I worked on

was installing redundant I/O servers and restructuring the current InTouch multi node application into a networked

application.

Micron Technology, Inc.: Boise, Idaho October 1995 to December 1999

Instrument and Controls Technician Lead: Responsible for calibration, maintenance and repair of the field devices

that monitor and control all of the facility equipment. I worked up to the Lead position where I organized and

scheduled projects and tasks for a group of five technicians. A project I completed was repairing and updating four

VOC abatement units which included programming on Allen Bradly PLC’s and HMI’s

Industrial Instrument Service Co.: Kenai, Alaska January 1995 to October 1995

Instrument and Controls Technician: Responsibilities included troubleshooting and repair of oil field instruments

on a call out basis. I also designed and installed process control systems for various customers using AutoCAD,

QLab, Wonderware, and various PLC systems. One such system was a data acquisition solution for wellhead

pressure and flow. It was a PC based system which included a QLab HMI, data logging and reporting. Another

system was a gas flow transmitter station which transmitted gas flow measurements across the Kenai Peninsula oil

field by RF to a Wonderware HMI. Additional experience with gas turbine controls for anti surge control and

instrumentation maintenance and calibration.

Genentech: South San Francisco, California May 1994 to January 1995

Instrument and Controls Technician: Responsibilities included maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of facility

instruments on pharmaceutical batch processes. I supervised the fabrication of air bubble sensing enclosures for air

detection in process piping. I also lead several upgrade projects, one of which was a distilled water circulation and

holding tank system.
