EDUCATION: UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA IN HUNTSVILLE, Huntsville, Alabama
Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, Conferred Dec 11, 2013.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS:
• Designed a system to determine static and dynamic coefficient of friction for different surfaces.
Programmed Arduino board in Labview, and wired Arduino to a three channel accelerometer to take
acceleration readings.
• Designed and built wind tunnel for Discovery Middle School and Women in Defense as part of the
2013 Product Realization design team. Used finite element analysis to determine best material for
wind tunnel, and CAD programs to draw wind tunnel models. Fabricated and assembled fan, test
section, and flow straightener in UAH machine shop. Participated as a member of a 5-person team.
• Designed a Ground Source Heat Pump as part of 2013 Design of Thermal Systems project team
member. Calculated heat transfer rates and velocity needed to cool a building during summer weather
using this system. Used these calculations as well as research to determine proper pipe material and
pump for system.
RELEVANT COURSEWORK:
• Knowledgeable in Mechanical Engineering sciences. Coursework in Machine Design, Computer
Aided Engineering, Design of Thermal Systems, Fluid Mechanics, Measurement and Instrumentation,
Kinematics and Dynamics of Machines, Materials and Manufacturing Processes, Heat and Mass
Transfer, Mechanics of Materials, Dynamic Systems Analysis, Thermodynamics, Electrical Circuit
