Responsibilities Include:
1. Develop annual objectives and markets for service departments abilities;
make recommendations to management regarding such issues as types of
service performed, equipment and space required, and sills needed; along
with Branch Manager, select and recommend personnel for hire; establish
records, reports and procedures concerning all service work performed.
2. Organize and conduct training programs and service meetings for both our
personnel and customer personnel; periodically evaluate the performance of
the service department; collaborate with the sales department in
evaluating used equipment for trade-in's; maintain working relations with
parts management and parts personnel.
3. Make recommendations regarding the purchase of service vehicles,
maintain the fleet in proper mechanical condition and supervise the
economical use of vehicles in the performance of service work; maintain
all service literature, instruction manuals, catalogs and factory
communications, keep the data current and brought to the attention of
service personnel.
4. Complete required modification programs in a timely manner; insure
warranty submission in timely manner per manufacturer guidelines; follow-
up with vendors regarding warranty aging; prepare estimates and forecasts;
initiate campaigns designed to increase the profit of the service
department; insure customer satisfaction with respect to time to complete
repairs and ensure repairs are done properly.
5. The Wheeling branch of McCann Industries closed its doors on May 20,
2009.
