PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2012 - Present Construction Operations Manager, TjD Dortch Construction, New Market, AL, Manage all aspects of construction projects. Acquire permits, develop bids, process payroll, and manage budgets. I I also manage personnel, safety, training, and for OSHA compliance.

2009 – 2012 Harvest Manager, Weyerhaeuser Company, Philadelphia, MS Managed logging contractors in the MS/AL region. Reviewed harvest plan and developed a strategy to ensure the ability to log throughout the year. Monitored harvesting operations to confirm safety, proper sourcing, utilization, SMZ designation, boundary lines integrity, and state BMP compliance. Knowledgeable of internal and external markets specifications, procedures, and pricing to ensure the highest return while meeting contract commitments.

2006 - 2009 Mid – Rotation Forester, Weyerhaeuser Company, Scooba, MS

Managed and monitored pruning in the MS/AL region. Worked with contractor and migrate workers to ensure contract compliance. Managed and monitored boundary line maintenance and woody release. Developed fertilization plan using lidar multi-spectral data, Wrote prescriptions, developed maps, and shapefiles for contractors. Also, managed the transportation, inventory, and database for the region.

2005 - 2006 Procurement Forester, International Paper Company, Cantonment, FL

Assisted in sourcing Cantonment Paper Mill (1.5 mm tons) while meeting division and region cost goals. Member of joint team to improve customer focus and team effectiveness. Managed landowner survey program to meet SFI standards. Assisted in sourcing Citronelle and Mc David sawmills to meet region cost goals.

2003 - 2005 Mid – Rotation Forester, International Paper Company, Cantonment, FL

Managed and monitored gulf coast area woody release, fertilization, and thinning program. Wrote prescriptions, monitored contractors, and updated ISO records.

2001 - 2003 Silvicultural Services Forester, International Paper Company, Jay, FL

Developed site prep plans for the gulf coast area (560 M acres). Managed the planting, herbaceous weed control, fertilization, and served as a technical reviewer for other areas. I managed these budgets meeting my area cost goals.

SPECIAL SKILLS and PROJECTS

Develop maps and shapefiles for contractors on various activities. Well versed in spatial and tabular updating and manipulation. Aided in safety training, audits, and received recognition for the area safety process. Worked with local landowners and hunting clubs on planting, fertilization, easements and spraying issues. Updated and maintained ISO records for the Blackwater and Escambia units. Aided in successful third party audits and began working on getting the Blackwater unit OSHA VPP status. I'm a Alabama certified pesticide applicator. I'm skilled in arc-map, Microsoft word, excel, and a Certified Master Logger by Florida Forestry Association. Certified in Best Management Practices for Silvicultural Contractors. and a 2003 Forest Resources Leadership Award recipient for operational excellence. I also speak to hundreds of high school juniors and senior throughout the south about forestry education and careers.
