Description

With this consensus Online Shopping as a whole has rapidly grown.

In this project, the main aim is to demonstrate that with better

interaction features in online web sites could improve sales over

the net. To create a prototype web site focusing on one of the many

problems that arises within Online Apparel Shopping.

< Design:

The lifecycle model looked at was the Lynch and Horton Model

(Lazar, 2001). This model has the following steps:

> Site definition and planning

> Site Design

> Site Construction

> Site Marketing

> Tracking, evaluation and maintenance

< Implementation:

Since this is a prototype the fifth and sixth step, Site Marketing,

does not really come into use and will not be within the scope of

this project. The site will be evaluated to verify if the main

objective has been achieved. In this chapter the main focus of the

implementation is the design and authoring of the website.

> Site Definition and Planning:

It is also set to demonstrate that with better

interactions features in clothing websites may

improve sales over the net.

> Site Design:

1. A customer who is new to our site has to register

himself and the registered customer can directly log

in.

2. Authorized customers can do their shopping.

3. After log in, he will be provided with the menu from

which he can choose the different sections for

shopping the products.

4. As he goes on browsing, the product details are

provided those are different for different products.

5. Just by clicking the" BUY" button he can purchase the

product, also he can provided with "ADD TO CART "button,by mere clicking of this button the selected product is

added to the basket.

6. He can specify the quantity that he wants.

7. We are providing the "VIEW CART" button, which

gives ssproviding "DELETE" and "MODIFY" button so

that the customer can delete or modify the purchased

items.

8. By clicking the bill button the total bill of the

items will be displayed and he is asked his credit

card number and password so that money is transferred

from his account. If the credit allowed to him is not

enough to buy the products, then he is informed with

a message "YOUR BILL IS MORE THAN ALLOWABLE CREDIT".

If the amount is allowable then the product is

delivered to the customer address, which is specified

in the registration.

< Site Construction:

> This project is based on three tier architecture.

> It has three layers namely: presentation layer, business

logic layer and database layer.

> We have implemented presentation layer with HTML, business

logic layer with java serve lets and database layer with

oracle.

> In this project a special zooming effect is provided which

is designed with CSS and JavaScript.

< Functionality Testing:

As part of the site construction step in the Lynch and Horton

Model, functionality testing is done. This included basic

navigation testing, testing every component is in working order,

make changes were needed, and also check for compliance with

HTML Standards.
