Reduction of Turn Around Time (TAT):

March 2013 - Jun 2013

Client of CBEMG is a global medical technology company. The challenge here

was to scale-up its turn-over from 1.75 million lines per day to 5 million

lines per day. This in turn has resulted in improving the baseline of the

business.

Goal: "To improve turn-around-time (TAT) 94% to 99% by Jun 30, 2013."

Outcome: Successfully achieved business case of saving INR 1.21 Cr p.a. by

achieving TAT% of 98.5%. Successfully implemented in-line process control

(the tolerance limit by using process simulation in DMAIC cycle)

Team Size: 10

Tools used: Brainstorming, Fishbone diagram, Multi-Voting technique,

Prioritization matrix, SIPOC model, MS Visio, Pie Graph, Pareto Chart,

Histogram, Box Plot, Control charts, RCA, Hypothesis tests (Kruskal wallis,

F test, Levene's test), Regression Analysis, Matrix plot, Logistic Model,

Simulation.

Lesson learnt: Extracting the useful data from the dump, Finding out the

Project Matrix based on goal, MS Excel Simulation, Validation of

measurement system, Process mapping.

. Brainstorming session with business stakeholders to identify the

roadblocks for achieving the target productivity.

. Fishbone diagram, Multi-Voting technique, Prioritization matrix are

used to identify the Opportunity of improvement.

. Prepared the SIPOC model at Business level, process level and

operation level.

. Performed Validation of measurement system.

. RCA for missing data and data errors, Prepared training material of

Importance of time calibration.

. Understand the distribution of data and list down possible input

variables which impact in TAT.

. Identify the KPIV's using matrix plot and correlation plot

. Using logistic Model and Simulation calculate the Inline tolerances

(SLA) for allocation time.

. Implement the calculated SLA, observed NO files are missing TAT.

Six Sigma Management Institute (SSMI):

MidCo Process Improvement: Jun 2013 -

July 2013

Goal is to execute the DMAIC strategy and realize the significant process

improvement in manufacturing unit across MidCo branches.

. Identify the branch which producing less yield and profit among US,

EU, SA, ME.

. Used simple Bar chart, pareto chart and multi vari study. Found US

producing less yield and profit.

. Analyze the US branch process of manufacturing, and Identified the

CTQ which is out of control, using capability analysis and control

charts.

. Identify the CTP which is influencing CTQ's out of control state,

using capability analysis, control charts, linear regression.

. Used DOE(Full factorial and factional factorial design) to find out

appropriate setting of input variable to get better output.

. Validate the output result using simulation.

. Implement the improvement plan and verify the CTQ's and CTP's which

was out of control, used control charts.

. Standardize the Input levels, yield and profit of US manufacturing

process improved.

Process Champion Framework:

March 2014 - June 2014

Business Case:

During the Client satisfaction survey conducted in Feb'14, it was

observed that only 58% of our clients were completely satisfied. Business

was at risk with 42% of partially satisfied clients.

Problem statement:

Received Client Satisfaction Index of 3.47 across a scale of 5, and

with an increasing trend observed in the number of client complaints, which

had a direct impact on the Cost of Poor Quality

Goal: "Increase the Client Satisfaction Index above 4 across a scale of 5

by 30th June 2014."

Outcome: 1.5 improvement in sigma level, reduced defect density and

achieved the Client Satisfaction Index of 4.16.

ACADEMIC PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION:

Automating Irrigation with Mobile Platform.

This project is based on ARM7 processor, through which we will be

able to control the irrigation automatically according to the moisture of

the soil. We implementing this on mobile platform, which is having a GSM

modem and LCD interface. This module will update the status of the system

to the user regularly. We are using a moisture sensor to sense the moisture

level of soil. If it is below a particular limit, this system will turn the

motor ON, till it the soil gets enough moisture, and the module will keep

updating these things to the user.

. Study and Understanding the ARM 7 architecture (LPC 2129).
