The Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS) is a laboratory of the Defence

Research and Development Organization (DRDO) of India. Located in

Bangalore, its primary function is development and evaluation of airborne

electronic systems for military applications.

PROJECT WORKED ON

TITLE: Airborne Early Warning & Control System (AEW&C)

DESIGNATION: Electronics Engineer

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

. I worked for Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR).

. Transponder Testing and test setup done in CABS and also in NANDI

HILLS during flight trails.

. Environmental qualification test of Transponder and Blade antenna.

. Involved in Transmitter-Receiver unit test.

. Designed a L-band antenna using CST Microwave simulation software.

. Interrogate and reply pulse identification using CRO as video output.

. Fixing of Antenna probes and power dividers in Antenna panel.

. Measurement of L-Band Probe & S-Band Probe - Active Antenna Array Unit

(AAAU) using Network Analyzer calculated the return loss, VSWR and

Bandwidth.

. Interconnection of RF cables inside Active Antenna Array unit (AAAU).

. I can handle RF Components and test equipments.

. EMI / EMC test for Combined Interrogator and Transponder in LRDE.

ACADEMIC PROJECT

Title: Advanced Tracking Technologies Combining the Installation of Two

Systems.

Description: The theme of this project is to monitor an army person by his

superior when he is under duty. To monitor, we are using global positioning

system to track their location using satellites. In case of signal errors,

we can switch over to another system which consist of two three dimensional

sensor namely MEMS and GYROSCOPE. Thus we can provide continuous tracking

system for any application.
