OBJECTIVE: A see-through task individual with a passion for solving
problems. Seeking a challenging position where I can exercise my knowledge
in chemical engineering, applying my skills and time to achieving goals, a
position that provides me with the opportunity for growth. I am eager to
learning new skills and expanding my knowledge base.
EDUCATION
University of Louisiana at Lafayette
Graduation: May 2014
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineer
. GPA: 3.1/4.0
Relevant Coursework
. Engineer process control and stage operation design
. Aspen engineering plant design - created a design to optimize sulfur
trioxide production from a waste stream containing gaseous sulfur
dioxide with the use of Aspen
. Chemical engineering experiments using refrigeration unit, heat
exchangers, evaporators, centrifugal pumps, boiler units, distillation
columns, filtration units, absorption, and extraction units.
EXPERIENCE
University of Louisiana at Lafayette - Lafayette, LA
August 2013 - December 2013
Unit Operations Lab Research Assistant
. Performed experiments and collected data for the calculation of flow
rate of solid particulate matter
. Used Matlab's image processing toolbox and neural network programming
to develop a script which uses images to detect flow rate of solid
particles. The resulting Matlab program is much faster than
traditional methods.
. Tested and implemented the use of a recycling stream which easily and
quickly recycled the solid pebbles used from the exiting stream back
into the feet tank for reuse.
New Mexico Highlands University - Las Vegas, NM
January 2010 - December 2010
Bio molecular Lab Research Assistant
. Conducted DNA polymerase chain reactions (PCR) for DNA isolation and
purification
. Performed gel electrophoresis experiments to determine gene
composition of Repro-27 mice and identify which genes had a mutation.
. Performed tail DNA sampling, surgery and tissue collection as
appropriate for genotyping purposes.
Gallencamnk Biomedical - Douala, Cameroon
May 2008 - September
2008
Laboratory Technician - Intern
. Along with plant laboratory technician team, produced a blood
preservative solution for use in preserving blood from employees of
two of the plant's biggest customers (Guinness and Coca Cola) during
their annual screening.
. Conducted annual blood screening for STD's and Malaria for employees
at Guinness and Coca Cola
. Due to efficient safety precautions, the process was completed on
schedule with no onsite safety incidents.
