I worked at several temporary positions with:

Regence BlueCross BlueShield - Helping implement a new insurance

regulatory requirement for reporting income taxes.

Columbia Sportswear Company - Redesigned spreadsheets and prepared

IRC Section 263A calculations for 2009 and 2010 tax returns.

Epic Aviation, LLC - Prepared state apportionment work papers and

depreciation spreadsheets for several short tax return periods occurring in

2009, 2010 and 2011.

PacifiCorp, Inc. - 2001 to 2008

Assistant Tax Director - Final responsibilities included fixed asset tax

accounting and regulatory tax reporting. Previously I was responsible for

tax return compliance and tax accounting for financial statement reporting.

Designed and implemented spreadsheets to efficiently compute tax provision

for several companies and to track deferred taxes. Major accomplishments

included:

o Development of an Excel model for the tax provision calculation

and tracking book-tax differences.

o Development of an open communication system with the Regulation

Department to improve tax reporting for regulatory filings.

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC (Formerly: Coopers & Lybrand)

. 1999 to 2001 - Tax Director - In charge of the tax department for the

Boise, Idaho office. Responsibilities included providing tax planning

and tax compliance services to clients as well as managing the

economics of the department.

. 1995 to 1998 - Tax Manager assigned as outsourced Tax Director of

Evergreen International Aviation, Inc. Leader of a team of six

individuals providing tax planning, compliance for income tax returns,

property tax reports, sales & use tax returns and federal excise tax

returns. Major accomplishments included:

o Reorganized the tax department and developed information

gathering and reporting systems which improved the efficiency of

the department.

o Settled a seven year IRS audit at less than one-third of the

original tax assessment.

. 1978 to 1987 - Tax Manager in San Jose, California and Eugene, Oregon.

Clients included real estate developers, high technology companies,

leasing companies and manufacturing companies.

Cavenham Forest Industries, Inc. - 1987 to 1995

. Director of Taxes for a group of forest products, oil & gas and coal

mining companies with $600 million in sales and $2 billion of assets

doing business in 14 states. Responsibilities included all tax

planning, compliance and audits for income, property, payroll and

sales and use taxes. Major accomplishments included:

o Tax planning ideas which saved the companies several million

dollars.

o Planning and implementation of a major company wide

reorganization.

o Planning and implementation of a major like kind exchange of

gold mining property for coal mining property.

o Development of a newly formed tax department after the spin-off

from Crown Zellerbach.

Internal Revenue Service - 1973 to 1978

. IRS Revenue Agent in Coos Bay and Portland, Oregon. I was the lead

Revenue Agent in charge of the Coos Bay office. Responsible for

audits of individuals, corporations, partnerships and non-profit

organizations. Also audited payroll tax returns and compliance with

independent contractor requirements.
