WORK EXPERIENCE

Progressive Systems, Bangalore, India

Design & Production Engineer November 2011

- August 2013

• Designed hydraulic fixture table for a ‘Cylinder Base Cover’ of a single cylinder 4 stroke Royal

Enfield Engine. Operations performed were milling, drilling and chamfer. Operations performed with in

the give cycle time of 90 seconds.

Software used was AutoCAD 2010, Solid Works 2010.

• Designed hydraulic fixtures for ‘Cylinder Head’ component of TVS Motors. Operations performed

were milling, drilling and chamfer to be performed in single setup.

Software used were Solid Works, AutoCAD 2010.

• Assisted in the design of a robotic arm assisted CNC machine.

Software used were Solid Works, AutoCAD 2010.

• Reviewed and created Bill of Materials (BOMs) for component drawings and proficient in G and

M codes and operating a CNC machine.

• Was involved with the coordination of vendors, suppliers and been on the shop floor for coordinating

the production and assembly of the components.

MRK Industries, Bangalore, India May 2010 –

August 2010 Summer Intern

Worked as an intern in M.R.K industries, which is a fabrication and assembly unit for DC motors. M.R.K

Industries manufactures components like D.C body, commutators and Epoxy bobbin. I have worked on

different fabrication machines like plasma cutting machine, Oxy-fuel cutting, Arc welding and

Metal inert gas welding. I have witnessed the whole assembly of D.C motors from the shafts to the

assembly of its core, the commutator and the different windings for motors and mounting of rotors inside

stator.

Excel solver, MS office, Arduino.

Operating Systems: Windows XP/Vista/7/8.

Skills: Self-motivated, good work habits, excellent communication skills, reliable, sincere, hardworking,

team worker, positive attitude and a quick learner.

ACADAMIC PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN

PROJECT: Robotics workshop

October 2011

Robotics workshop conducted by ‘LI-2INNOVATIONS’. We used Arduino software which is a combination

of C and java. We built line sensing robots using IR sensors. Also we built mobile operated robots which

could perform basic functions like moving left and right, back and forth, circular motion and various

combinations of these functions.

PROJECT: Hybrid Power Generator

February 2012

Description: We built Hybrid Solar and Wind Power Generator for rural use which is an integration of

equipment’s that captures solar energy and wind energy, stores it in a battery and generates power which can

be used for useful work. It consists of a photo-voltaic solar-cell array (solar panel), a mast-mounted wind

generator, lead-acid storage batteries, an inverter unit to convert DC power to AC power, electrical lighting

loads and electrical heating loads, testing instruments for measuring voltages and currents.

PROJECT: Design and Manufacturing of Nano Transducer.

November 2013

We designed and are manufacturing a Nano Transducer that can measure the deflection in nanometers.

PROJECT: Solving of Traveling Salesman problem using the nearest neighbor approach and convex hull

approach and K-means clustering. Comparison of these approaches against Mat Labs Genetic algorithm

method. November 2013

PROJECT: Conducted a project on Value Stream Mapping.

September 2013

We used value stream mapping to reduce lead time, seven wastes and increases value added percentage

of the company.

PROJECT: Design Optimization of Plate Girders.

March 2014

Welded plate girders are used in many practical applications, such as overhead cranes, and highway and

railway bridges. Here I designed and formulated welded plate girder for a highway bridge to minimize its

cost, satisfying the requirements of the AASHTO Specifications (American Association of State Highway

and Transportation Officials). There were several linear and nonlinear constrains which was solved through

Matlab to obtain the optimum design in order to reduce the mass of the structure.

LEADERSHIP AND VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

Spokesperson/Organizer

Assisted with coordination and marketing of technology Fest and

January 2012

Cultural event, Vismay on campus.

September 2011

Volunteer December 2009-

November 2012

• Joined a charitable trust Manav Charities a certified NGO and have been working there for the past 3

years. Some of the projects that I have been part of are, SHAPE (School Health Awareness Program &

Education), PIA Child Care Centre, Citizen Help Desk, Nutritious Meal Program, Career Guidance

Program, Road Safety Program, AIDS Awareness Program and Community Health Program.

HONORS

• Recipient of Gold medal for securing Distinction in all 8 semesters in engineering.

February 2013

• Recipient of University Graduate Scholarship (UGS) of $11,000 from University of Cincinnati. June

2013

• Participated and won at various quiz competitions held at High School level (like ISKON HERITAGE

Fest, New South Wales, Science Talent Examination, Center for Human Resource Development, and

various other college fests.)
