Job summary: Assumes responsibility for the delivery of quality nursing health care to

patients in the unit; provides direct and indirect patient care; adheres to the Nursing Service

Policies and Procedures and other protocols in the performance of duties and

responsibilities and other patient care activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Utilizes Nursing Process in the delivery of nursing care

1.1 Assessment

• Utilizes assessment skills to determine patient’s needs

• Performs physical assessment

- interviews and interacts with the patient

- performs simple physical examination

1.2 Planning

• Develops and documents plan of care based on patient’s medical needs

• Systematic organization of work assignment

• Collaborates with other health team members in planning care

1.3 Implementation

• Provides hygiene and physical comfort

• Addresses to the needs of the patients

• Ensures clean and safe environment

• Implements doctors’ order properly

• Gives health instructions and teaching to patient

• Records and reports observations

• Supervises members of the health team in the delivery of quality care

1.4 Evaluation

• Evaluates patient’s response to medical and nursing intervention and makes intelligent

referral if further evaluation is needed in clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control,

nursing skills, physiological knowledge, administering medication, medical teamwork,

multi-tasking, listening, verbal communication,&health promotion.
