Calm, considerate and supportive, I am a qualified Teaching Assistant, with over twelve years’ experience of working with children and young people, including those with special needs. I have worked on a one-to-one basis and with small groups and I have strong organisational skills. I know how to observe children and produce sensitive and accurate reports and liaise with colleagues and parents. I have gained excellent communication skills and I am able to support children of different needs and abilities.

I worked with small groups of children. For three years, I gave extra support to two boys with emotional and behavioral difficulties. I helped them with their learning through playing and to interact with each other and the whole group, developing games and activities and using picture books. I also managed a group of children aged between 3-8 years old to explore stories through pictures, painting and creative activities. I organised activities for children of different background and special educational needs and from disadvantaged background including children with Special Educational Needs to play with other children.

I have helped on trips to different places and visits to other youth clubs and holidays clubs for kids

In all these situations I liaised closely with parents and carers. As well as work closely with my team to offer the highest standards of care.

my greatest achievement is working and teaching children with special educational needs and mainstream.
