IN BRIEF

I am a highly motivated, proactive and conscientious individual and I endeavour to accomplish

everything I do in the best way possible. I aim to deliver exceptional results based on these

principals, as can be demonstrated by my results so far and my many other achievements. As a

keen sportsperson, especially dancing, my competitive edge and immense passion for success is all

too clear.

I am able showcase my ability to problem solve, communicate within my team to ensure accurate

results, and analyse those aforesaid results which warranted the smallest of margins. This further

demonstrates my ability to work well within a team, which is furthermore supplemented by my

people skills, which I believe, is of paramount importance when at work.

Geography Bsc-

GIS- Through practical’s and theory lectures, I have built a strong knowledge for spatial analysis and

various practical techniques, all of which are paramount when working within GIS. Through my

practical’s I have gained skills in working with programs such arc map, excel and access which have

provided me with strong technical skills.

Geographies of Empire- This module has allowed me to embrace the theoretical and empirical side to

geography from studying slavery to the British Empire. This module focuses on incorporating historical,

economic, political and social perspectives, and how these factors impact on the human environment.

Cold Environments- Through practical’s, lectures and fieldwork I have gained a great understanding of

glacial, periglacial and fluvio glacial environments. Teamwork within my fieldwork study was paramount

which gave me the opportunity to communicate with my colleagues and work within a team.

LEISURE

Deputy Head Girl– Norden High School – developed my organisational skills and enabled me to display

my genuine interest towards helping others.

Drama school – development in communicative skills: through both paralanguage and the verbal

presentation of a point or argument.

Secondary school sports leader – This was highly rewarding as I was able to see the students’ progress

with my help over the weeks.

Dancer – Developed confidence and competitiveness through competing in festivals and choreographed

for various dance competitions.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Napthens Solicitors LLP, Preston, Blackburn & Blackpool – Summer Intern archiving and receptionist

assistant. (June 2010- August 2012)

During my time at Napthens Solicitors I gained invaluable skills. My main duties included archiving

probate files into a computer database. When archiving files I was responsible for boxing, filing and

labelling all probate files and also organising a wide variety of confidential materials and ensuring closed

legal files are stored correctly and instantly available on demand. I learnt the importance of having strong

employee relationships, communication skills and keeping organised in order to meet deadlines and

generate results.

Kelly Hughes Hair Studio Ltd, Whalley – Hairdresser Assistant (May 2011- September 2012)

Responsible for assisting hairdressers in various different jobs such as blow drying and washing client’s

hair and also answering phone calls and booking appointments. Operating on a one-to-one basis with

customers on a daily basis, which made communication, interpersonal skills and overall confidence

fundamentally important. Great emphasis on building a strong relationship not only with the customers,

but also other employees involved to ensure impeccable all-round service.
