SKILLS & My experiences have been in many areas. I worked in the hospital for 24 years and evaluated

many different kinds of people. I did cardiac and respiratory, there were Diabetics and chronic

ABILITIES

CHF patients. I saw psychiatric patients. I evaluated pre surgical patients in preadmission

testing and some patients in surgical preoperative area. I have been working with preoperative

cataract patients and even inmates in a county jail, I did some immunizations and I enjoy

teaching and explaining. I have received several thank you notes and a certificate of

recognition and even the Doctor’s office has called with comments about my teaching and

explaining. I am particularly interested in Sleep Apnea. I go to conferences to learn more about

disease processes and teaching points of interest.

This is where I had experience with day surgery patients. I did health physicals for pre-

employment, I worked in the County Jail, I gave immunizations, I saw work injuries and

treated through a health clinic with the direction of the advising physician.

MARYMOUNT HOSPITAL ADULT NURSE PRACTIONER

(5-1-1980 to 11-22-2003

I started in Marymount’s Nurse Practitioner program and went through 1 year internship and

obtained my State Certification. I stayed and obtained experience in medical, evaluations by

completing exams admission history and physical exams, preoperative evaluations, cardiac

evaluations, psychiatric admission evaluations, sleep apnea testing history and physicals,

geriatric history and physicals, participated in emergency practice sessions in Marymount

Hospital.

EDUCATION HURON ROAD SCHOOL OF NURSING 9-1966 TO 9-1969

I was an average student and maintained a grade average of B-C and graduated one of nine

students. I had good experiences but did not have very challenging patients. But after I

graduated my learning took effect. I needed more experience. I learned more practice and

experience after graduation. I returned to Huron Road after a few years and worked in the heart

cath lab which was a new field and I truly enjoyed It. I kept looking for a place to settle into

and that was being a Nurse Practitioner.

As a nurse practitioner I did a respiratory teaching program for nurses and new respiratory

students at Marymount. When I was single I actively instructed Basic CPR and ACLS which I

enjoyed the teaching.

LEADERSHIP I belong to a Nurse Practitioner group OANP which I co-chair the scholarship fund and the

Nurse Practitioner of the year award. I would like to belong to a few more groups to keep me

active if I have salary funds to join. I have actively updated our H&P forms. I have precepted

other new NP’s through Prosearch Healthcare.
