Summary

Over 20 years of IBM iseries (AS/400) RPG programming and data processing

experience. Over the past 20 years, I have programmed and modified

countless numbers of both interactive and batch RPG programs, use SQL

commands, as well as administrating DB2 database file. I have strong

technical and analytical abilities and have always been able to identify

tasks, issues as well as create technical specification documents. My 20

plus year of programming experience has enabled me to quickly determine

complex issues and come up with solutions. I have strong technical

debugging skills and programming techniques. I have done many large-scale

projects and none of them had to be re-worked. I have been working very

hard and very responsible for my work. I work with my teammates very well.

I have worked at Follett Higher Education group for more than 15 years.

- Program Modifications

o Our business often needed to accommodate customer requirements

by adjusting our data processing logics. I would do the

technical design documents. After user approval, I would proceed

to make the needed modifications. I have done this type of work

throughout the 15 years I was at Follett Higher Education group.

At a result, I have become very familiar with our JDA MMS data

processing logic as well as program code structures.

Modifications that seemed to be complex for other technical

programmers usually were easy for me to work on because over

time I understand more details and how these programs work.

o Based on business needed I often use SQL, query to retrieve data

from AS/400 DB2 database to generate interface file and then

transfer interface file to different system, such as Oracle

system, EDI system, or Win/DSS system, etc.

o I also frequently retrieved data from DB2 database files and

converted to Micro EXCEL report as customers and management

needed.

- Day to day operation support

o I always stayed in constant communication with our application

users and provided tech and functional support as needed. Every

time we have new and different users, I always provide all

needed documents in addition to providing face to face help...

o I also provided on site application support to users. I was a

first contact person for sales audit department and inventory

department. I always had to deal with lot of any issues that

came out during day to day operation. In most cases, I was able

to resolve the issue right away. If the issue was complex, I

looked into the program codes and found out the cause.

o In addition to above support, I also perform research on

potential issues. My management often asked for ways to enhance

our operation. I would look into our process and research for

better ways to process our data and generate better reports for

our customers. Through this research work, I have become much

stronger in operation of our JDA MMS system.

- Technical documentation and program coding

o I have been a Sr. programmer Analyst for 15 years at Follett

Higher Education. I understand much of our system architecture

and inter module relationships. When there is a need of

functional enhancement or issue fix, I was able to quickly get

to the point and create needed technical documentations. Then I

would present this documentation to our users for review and

discussions. I also do some or all of the program coding...

o By doing this technical documentations, I have become strong in

the area of issue documenting, and prevent repeat of same

issues. Also this help new user training.

- Large-scale, complex unit and system testing

o Over the past 15 years, I have done many unit and system testing

of new and modification projects. In order to perform these

tests, one must understand the data used for the testing as well

as the expected results. Such understanding cannot be prepare

overnight. It must be accumulated over long period of time. I

had enough experience so I was able to prepare what is needed

for the test quickly, both on technical side and functional

side.

o I also prepared complex testing documents. This area I always

work with my team mates to use proper English language so that

our documents are correctly created/maintained.
