RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Northeastern University, Lab of Pharmacology of Prof. Richard Deth Boston, MA
Sep. 2012 – July 2013
Research Associate
Conducted researches about effects of ethanol and Neuregulin on antioxidant and methylation status in neuronal cells
via SH-SY5Y cells culture, radioactive cysteine uptake, results analyzed using protein assay and software such as
GraphPad Prism, Mikro Win and Excel, results presented using Powerpoint
GlaxoSmithKline Parsippany, NJ
June 2012 – Aug. 2012
Intern, Consumer Healthcare Laboratory Technician
Independently finished project "Understanding Diclofenac Chemistry in Topical Gels" through processes of literature
review, method development, experiment design and conduct, result analysis as well as report
In order to understand diclofenac sodium photodegradation in different topical gels, different gels with different
formulations and packages were used. Ultra Performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) was performed on initial gels,
after a standard photostability test, UPLC was performed again to study the differences of impurities in the gels
Utilized Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) to study thermal properties of diclofenac and its compatibility with
excipients, results indicated possible interactions between Ultrez polymers and menthol, Ultrez polymers and
diclofenac sodium. Familiar with cGMP practices
Sun Yat-sen University, Lab of Pharmacology and Toxicology Guangzhou, China
Aug. 2010 – June 2011
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Completed a thesis “Role of Neurochondrin (NCDN) in neuronal differentiation induced by NGF”
Performed ELISA and RT-PCR to show NGF enhanced the mRNA level of NCDN in PC12 cells in a time - and
dose-dependent manner, also revealed that both PI3K/Akt and ERK inhibitors blocked the regulation of NCDN by NGF
NCDN plasmid and specific siRNA were transfected into PC12 cells, result demonstrated that knock -down of NCDN
blocked NGF-induced neuronal differentiation of PC12 cells
Sun Yat-sen University, Lab of Molecular Structure of Drugs Guangzhou, China
July 2010 – Aug. 2010
Project Leader
Conducted the project “Dynamics Simulation of Baicalin and CYP-2D6” by using Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD)
Created and arranged the schedule for team. Summarize and analyze results
