Summary

The first thing you should know about me is how passionate and invested I am in everything I do. I am that guy

that makes you listen intently, spark your curiosity and want to know more about whatever it is he is talking

about, because when I speak about my job or any of my passions, I do so with the same genuine excitement you

would see in a toddler's face when they arrive at the entrance to Disneyland.

Games, character development, storytelling and animation are some of my biggest passions, and I rely on them

to approach gamification from a unique, intrinsically fun and player-centred perspective, which allows me to

propose solutions that go well beyond points, badges and leaderboards and, that truly foster user engagement,

continued participation and community building between brands, organizations and their target audience.

I am a dynamic and highly creative individual, I am persevering, relentless and I believe in giving nothing less

than 110% in each of my efforts and inspiring others to do the same.

Now, I want to tell you why else you will want to work with me: I am results-driven, I think outside the box, I

draw inspiration from all kinds of fields and sources and as several of my previous colleagues have stated in

their recommendations, I am the machine behind the machine and the guy you want to have around at crunch

time.

Juan Carlos Silva

Gamification Designer, Social Media Strategist, Video Producer, Animator, Visual Storyteller, 3D

Artist, Writer.

acdmma@r.postjobfree.com

9 people have recommended Juan Carlos

"I worked with Juan when I was free-lancing as a director of the Cinematics for the game Watch Dogs. With

in-game cinematics it is impossible to judge your work unless you have someone who captures it from the

game. It is an essential tool and the only way to see if the lights are in the right place, if the clothes move

correctly, if the animation is done correctly and even just to see if the characters are in the right place in the

scene. Part of Juan's role was to go through the game every day, enter all the right cheat codes or play the

constantly changing missions in the correct order to trigger the cinematics, and then capture them. He was a

really hard worker, and always did his outmost to make sure we could see our work as soon as possible and

then go back and tweak and correct it. I have no problem recommending Juan and wish him all the best."

Kun Chang, Realization & Cinematics Director on Watch_Dogs, Ubisoft, managed Juan Carlos indirectly

at Ubisoft Montreal

"I met Juan on the development of Watch Dogs as we were both working on the Cinematics for the game.

Although we were on two different teams I was hearing echo of Juan's work even before I met him, I then

quickly understood why; Juan is very passionate about cinematics and is willing to work night and day for his

passion. On our project Juan's became a reference for any questions we had in regards of cinematics and

although he was extremely busy he was always willing to help. Juan is a very positive goal-oriented person.

He is a pleasure to work with and I would definitely work with him again!"

Karine Renaud, Production coordinator, Ubisoft Entertainment - Montreal, worked with Juan Carlos at

Ubisoft Montreal

"It was clear to me from the moment I interviewed Juan Carlos for the Brand Ambassador position at ECCO,

that he will be a great addition to our Team. A passionate and hard-working individual with a great creative

flare to visual merchandising. During his tenure with ECCO Juan improved everyday, learning all aspects of

store operations, which resulted in his promotion to Assistant Store Manager. A great Teammate, a leader by

example, Juan will be a definite asset in any organization."

Armand Bouyoukian, Store Manager, ECCO Sko A/S, managed Juan Carlos at ECCO Sko A/S

"Juan Carlos worked with me for quite some time as a Localization QA Tester. His knowledge of Languages,

context, content and consistency made his work one of the highest quality localization work I've seen in the

industry. He always delivered the best result at the shortest time possible, always, constant, always

Page7

responsible and he always followed up with his work to ensure the highest standards all the way till the end.

For Spanish/English localization work he is one of the best."

Jonathan (Nathaniel) Villanueva, Localization Quality Assurance Lead and Project

Manager, VMC, managed Juan Carlos at 2011 VMC Game Labs

"Juan is very well organized, diligent in his work, easily reachable, and always on time. He is dedicated to

every task he is given. Juan is a hard-working self-starter who invariably understands exactly what a project

is all about from the outset, and how to get it done quickly and effectively. I highly recommend Juan for

employment. He is a team player and would make a great asset to any organization."

Natalija Fuksmane, was Juan Carlos's client

"Juan Carlos is a highly skilled and knowledgeable trainer in 3D applications. He is patient, kind and

lateral-thinking in his approaches to problem-solving and helping people understand how to achieve the

results they want. I have hired him on many occasions to train me personally and others. I wholeheartedly

recommend him as a 3D animation instructor or as a 3D animator and would be happy to provide additional

details if needed."

Annette Rays, was Juan Carlos's client

"I first met Juan in 2005 at the University of Technology Sydney in the Master of Animation program. Our

class/course was small and Juan and I quickly became friends. Juan was in the top of our class with his skills

and level of knowledge and he displayed a true talent and passion for 3D modeling, lighting and animation.

Later, this led me to contract him for some small projects. Through the years Juan has grown and developed

his aptitude. He is a genuine guy with integrity and uncompromising values. Moreover, he has a remarkable

stamina to work long hours and consistently shows his dedication to all projects he embarks upon. At project

crunch time, he is the guy you will want around. He is the machine behind the machine."

Lora Kinzli, Student, University of Technology, Sydney, studied with Juan Carlos at University of

Technology, Sydney

"Juan's work always fascinates me, by all means its got "wow" factor! I still remember, no matter what time

it is, he'll always be glued to his G5 & tablet creating world of wonders! Love it, and by all means he is a

great CGA & a responsible human being. Good luck always."

priyank joshi, Interior Designer, Smart Home Works, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, studied with Juan Carlos at

University of Technology, Sydney

"My experience with Carlos goes back to the days of two people still working inside the university computer

labs at 4 in the morning. Carlos had always been very dedicated, knowledgeable and very talented, producing

some of the best work in our year and earning himself the reputation amongst the other students as the guy to

go to for help. Carlos would frequently give his time and energy to assist other students and was very much

liked among us all. I would not hesitate to employ Carlos due to his professionalism and dedication to his

craft, and I look forward to the day when we can work together, as I know his lighting skills would

Page8

compliment anything I would hand over to him."

Daniel Cohn, Student, UTS, studied with Juan Carlos at University of Technology, Sydney
