Stones FSPO, Gulf of Mexico
The Stones field development is located in the Gulf of Mexico in a water
depth of over 9,500 feet and is situated 200 miles off the Louisiana coast.
It is estimated to hold over two billion barrels of oil. The full field
development strategy for the Stones field is to utilize a subsea
development tied to an FPSO.
The FPSO will be moored using a disconnect able buoyant turret mooring
(BTM) technology. The disconnect able-buoy-equipped turret will enable the
vessel to weather-vane and remain on station through winter storms but will
disconnect from the well and sail to safe anchorage in the event of a
hurricane. When located on station the FPSO will be the deepest FPSO
installation in the world.
Duties involved,
Monitor the performance and compliance of the contractor/owner SBM, and the
conversion contractor Keppel Shipyard Singapore over 4 fabrication
facilities covering the fabrication of the buoy and turret, all topside
modules, the vessel conversion and the vessel integration.
Planning, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive audit and
review program.
Manage the full FPSO project Quality Assurance and Quality Control Team
including: 1 Senior QA Engineers, and 10 inspectors, covering piping,
mechanical, structural, electdoinrical & instrumentation, and static &
rotating equipment.
Monitor the SBM and Contractors Quality management systems to ensure
compliance with all project and statutory requirements.
Monitor the implementation and record compliance with the FPSO Technical
Integrity Verification Plan.
Assessment and monitoring of all project technical assurance verification
and quality control processes to ensure final asset technical integrity and
compliance with all USCG safety, environmental, and marine regulatory
requirements.
Coordinate all mechanical completion certification and pre-commissioning
activities prior to final Turn-Over.
