structures.
Accomplishments: Worked 7,230,000 man hours without a lost time accident. Won Eleven Federal Safety
Certificates and Sixteen State Safety Certificates.
2000-2001 Project Manager/Foreman, Hi-Tech Construction
Duties were to coordinate, organize and supervise construction crews and subcontractors to meet job and
customer specifications within budget, responsible for the Health and Safety of all employees working under
my direct supervision.
1990-2000 Safety and Environmental Compliance Engineer, Project and Construction Manager, Pen Coal
Corporation
I assisted in the design, cost analysis, and budgeting along with the direct supervision of construction and
Environmental compliance crews for all production and non-production projects, assisted in the design and
supervision of open pit surface mining as well as the design, ventilation and production reporting for 5
underground mine facilities, design and treatment of waste/water produced by all operations. Designed and
implemented system to meet National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance.

1988-1990 Environmental Engineer, Island Creek Coal Company
Employed as an environmental engineer to design and implement a water treatment and reporting system for
three hundred waste/storm water monitoring installations, located in Southern West Virginia and Eastern
Kentucky; the systems were designed to comply with the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System
(NPDES). At the position of Remediation Compliance Engineer my duties were to supervise construction of
emergency spillways, decant systems, erosion control and sediment control structures for nine complexes. I
was also a member of the Island Creek Mine Rescue Team.
1987-1988 Chief Draftsman and Designer, Appalachian Surveying Inc.
As Chief Draftsman and Designer, responsibilities were the design and layout of surface and deep mine
complexes. I also supervised survey crew leaders in the collection of required data for mapping.
1985-1987 Preparation Plant Fabrication Designer/Drafting Detailer, Guyan Machinery Co.
Responsibilities were the collection of measurements and data for the production of metal, ceramic and
plastic products. Instrumental in testing and evaluation of new product designs.
