. While at FANUC Robotics, I prepared proposals of robotic systems

Proposal Engineer/Project Manager

Responsible for evaluating customer specifications, with our process

engineer verify optimal robot utilization. Determined safety and process

equipment requirements for a complete "Turn-Key" robotic spray painting

system. Established all equipment costs as well as the number of

mechanical, electrical, software and installation engineering hours needed

to implement the system. Utilized self-created intricate Excel

spreadsheets to optimize profit margin and generate effective sales

presentations with salesman. Wrote detailed proposal describing the system

including sequence of events, utility requirements, clarify customer/seller

responsibilities, provided milestone schedule and made concept drawings

through AutoCAD software.

. Developed individual module write ups and costs for various custom-made

products offered by FANUC Robotics (i.e. manual input stations, PLC

system controls, closed loop fluid controls, analog atomization/fan

spray gun controls and personnel safety equipment). This reduced

proposal writing time by having prewritten descriptions of product

offerings.

Started as a senior sales engineer in 1980; promoted to a project manager

in 1983; then to manager of the design engineering group in 1985.

Successfully reorganized the department by establishing new job titles,

responsibilities, and revised the drawing/part numbering system.

Supervised a staff of thirteen, analyzed all equipment proposals, evaluated

customer specifications to determine the degree of difficulty and match the

project with the appropriate staff person. Managed the design of

component/system projects, established priorities and scheduled engineering

completion dates. Maintained and properly utilized the CAD system.

. Reduced the engineering staff from thirteen to eight at the same time

sales volume increased from $10 million to $25 million while

maintaining group efficiency at 108%.

. Introduced a new CAD design system which reduced man-hours per project

by 15%, resulting in over $75,000 per year savings.
