Skills & Abilities

Languages

• Korean (2004-PRESENT) On and off self-studies for nine years. Abilities include proper understanding of the Korean alphabet, including double consonants and dipthongs, as well as bits of conversational Korean.

• Japanese (2007-PRESENT) On and off self-study six years and one year of in class studies. Abilities include an

understanding of Katakana and Hiragana and the ability to quickly tell the difference between the two systems, understanding Kanji when typing or writing it out, and minimal conversational Japanese.

• Spanish + French (2008-PRESENT) Mostly self-study and some in class studies for both languages. Abilities in both languages include proper greetings and small talks, some ability to accurately translate from either to English, and conversational speech.

• Languages Proficient in HTML and CSS with over years of experience in those two computer languages. Currently an intermediate at jQuery and a novice in Javascript, JAVA, PHP, FTP, SQL, and VB.

• Other Over three years of designing,building, and creating websites using HTML, CSS, and bits of Javascript at a freelance level. Over two years of experience designing for Blogger using XHTML, HTML, and CSS. Three years of coding for the Tumblr blogging platform.

• Cosmetology Three years of self study in the areas of makeup, nail art,hair care, and skin care. Primary focus is haircare, specifically hair dyeing.

• Administrative Experience with Open Office, Kingsoft Software, Microsoft Office, and Foxit Reader. Can type anywhere from 40-80wpm.

French-English Translator Nippon Project 2008-2010

• Responsibilities included translating articles on Japanese artists, including news and live reports, from French to English accurately. Responsibilities also included making sure article translation were as accurate as possible and that articles included an appropriate usage of proper grammar and spelling.

Article Proofreader/Editor musicJAPANplus 2008-PRESENT

• Responsibilities include making sure that articles translated from various languages to English are accurately translated and are easily understood. Grammatical and spelling errors were altered to approval, as were all inconsistencies.

Freelance Web Designer 2009-PRESENT

• Responsibilities include using HTML and CSS effectively and efficiently in order to create an aesthetically pleasing, yet simple, easily accessible and navigable website layout. Skills included HTML and CSS alongside an extensive understanding of the source code program, Notepad++, primarily, but also included a basic knowledge of JavaScript, PHP, jQuery, Adobe Photoshop.

Freelance Blogger 2011-PRESENT

• Responsibilities include typing up and editing blog posts on the topics of Lifestyle, Health & Beauty, Food, Gaming, and more. Skills included are an understanding of both the Blogger and Wordpress interfaces, and correct formatting.
