Job description:
Staff nurse (Medical surgical Ward):
• Render supportive and restorative nursing care of patient’s life and well-being;
• Assess, plan, and implement nursing activities based on identified health
problems, through case findings, health teaching and counselling;
• Participate in the orientation of new personnel and non-nursing personnel in their
respective unit;
• Assist in the improvement of nursing care;
• Act as a team leader and performs her duty to the best of her ability for quality
and patient care;
• Carry out doctor’s order within hospital policy and legal limitations, maintains
records, nursing notes and individual care;
• Maintain good relationship with hospital personnel and public.
Emergency room:
Ensure the provision of quality emergency medical care to patients requiring
emergency treatment in accordance with physician orders, hospital policy, and
standard nursing practice.
Perform patient assessment and nursing diagnosis.
Evaluate episodic and acute responses to broad classifications of physical or
psychosocial issues.
Manage the planning and implementation of interventions.
Coordinate patient referrals and discharge planning activities.
Responsibilities:
Rendered initial care and assessment of patients with life threatening injuries.
Provided direct nursing care to emergency room patients with a variety of clinical
problems.
Assessed patients and rendered necessary triage.
Determined the medical needs of patients with injuries either independently or in
consultation with physicians.
Performed duties as transport nurse as necessary.
