Quinta Essentia Designs, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Business Owner: Startup
company to design and manufacture a line of women's clothing and
accessories. (2005-2009)
Analytical Sciences, Inc (ASI), Durham, NC, QA/User Support Manager: ASI
was a small, privately held company providing contract technical and
statistical support services to government and private industry. Position
was with TDMS (Toxicology Data Management System) contract administered by
NIEHS (National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences). TDMS is a
proprietary system for creating and maintaining the database for NTP
(National Toxicology Program) research data collected by LDAS (Laboratory
Data Acquisition System). Responsible for all User Support Liaisons, QA
staff, and technical writing staff. Due to limited technical writing
staff, provided much of the documentation myself. Also helped to maintain
a good relationship between contract staff and NIEHS Project Officer. (2000-
2001)
Technology Planning and Management Corporation (TPMC), Durham, NC, Program
Manager: TPMC was a small, minority owned business providing contract
technical services primarily to government. Managed multimillion-dollar
federal contract to provide computer support services for TDMS and LDAS.
Worked closely with customer to assure that all contractual obligations
were successfully fulfilled. Prepared contract budget and annual plan.
Contract personnel included three department managers and approximately 40
other employees including programmer/analyst, DB administrators, QA
personnel, system design engineers, and user support liaisons. Continued
to serve as Project Manager for LDAS while assuming Program Manager
position. (1999-2000)
TPMC, Durham, NC, Project Manager: Managed software developers and testers
in complete redesign of LDAS from an MS-DOS to an MS Windows system.
Participated in system design and architecture; insured that system fully
complied with requirements specifications; prepared project schedules and
set milestones and monitored progress via MS Project; reported system
status to senior management and customer; assisted in resolution of complex
technical and system problems; trained laboratory data collection personnel
and pathologist in the use of new system. Assumed position while serving
as User Support Manager and continued after becoming Program Manager. (1998-
2000)
TPMC, Durham, NC, User Support Manager: Managed user support liaisons
responsible for assisting laboratories contracted by NIEHS to conduct NTP
studies. Liaisons set up research studies on LDAS, insuring that study
data was properly transferred to TDMS, and made changes to the data as
directed by authorized NIEHS review groups. Also provided significant
support to the Program Manager in preparing budgets, schedules, reports,
and other required documentation. Continued to fulfill these duties while
assuming the role of Project Manager for a software development project in
October 1998. (1998-1999)
TPMC, Durham, NC, Programmer/Analyst: Provided programming and maintenance
for administrative systems for computer support services contract with
NIEHS. Participated in conversion of existing budget system to a Web based
system. Named project leader for Budget System after only 2 months on the
job. Assisted in design and development of a Web based conference room
scheduling system. Provided user training for both budget and conference
room scheduling systems. Received three "President's Awards" for
