OBJECTIVE:
To utilize my training and experience to move an organization to its full
potential of providing quality, safe patient care. Work in conjunction with
Medical Staff members in an ongoing Process Improvement program providing
the most recent trends and data available. I will work to collect and
analyze data with regards to quality and use that data to formulate
policies and procedures in keeping within the regulatory guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
. Thirty years of nursing experience with a majority of those years
within the perioperative setting.
. I have worked closely with the Quality Department and have been
involved in Performance Improvement within the hospital and
instrumental in establishing a successful Core Measure team with focus
on SCIP Protocol
. Developing audit tools necessary to evaluate our progress in adhering
to proper parameters of time, selection and documentation of
preoperative antibiotic
. FMEA work in establishing the hospital wide Time Out Process and
Universal Protocol
. HAC team development of Prevention of Retained Foreign Body policy
currently used throughout all procedural areas
. Work with Infection Control Committee in developing the
interdepartmental policy on the high level disinfection of scopes and
the decrease of SSI's. Recently working with IC to educate surgeons
and staff on the proper preoperative skin preparation and
incorporating the manufacturers' recommended dry time to not only
decrease the chance of postoperative infection, but also decrease the
chance of intraoperative fire.

Commission and AORN Standards
I have worked in many capacities required within the OR arena and include
supervising, revenue integrity and inventory control. I have worked in
both outpatient and inpatient settings including a Level II trauma center.
As a Perioperative Educator, I have had the opportunity to share both my
experience and knowledge to staff members and students. I am also trained
in procedure coding and I have recently participated in a Hedis Project as
a Field Reviewer.
