Boiler Operator
6 hour on 6 hour off shifts in boiler room 7 days a week while underway Preformed blow downs on boiler
while shutting down or as directed
Collected samples to test the boiler water, condensation, and softener levels
Kept a running log on boiler readings as well as readings on force draft blowers, feed pumps, fuel oil service
pumps, oil settling tank
Fixed leaks and troubleshot other problems that occurred as needed
Catapult machinist/Catapult Supervisor
16 hour on 8 hour off or 12 hour on 12 hour off watch rotations
Charge accumulators in accordance with safe operating procedures to ensure not to damage equipment or risk
a steam rupture
Take readings on accumulator water levels hourly and blow down as needed
Take steam temp. press. Readings half hourly to ensure needed steam pressure is available for flight
operations
Monitor cat machinists to ensure proper watch standing
