During my Masters qualification I was given the opportunity to gain a placement in this

organisation and later took on a voluntary position to add further practical skills to my

educational abilities. I performed a range of tasks and support activities including:

• Greeting children and parents each day to the nursery

• Helping and encouraging children to become independent according to their age and

abilities through games, talking and listening exercises, reading and story telling or

practical learning through hygiene awareness, washing hands before and after meals

and toiletry activities

and support. The age range of this group covered 4 to 16 years old.
