Work Experience

• IEH Laboratories and Consulting Inc.: QA Supervisor and Microbiologist. Skilled in a wide

variety of protocols required for food microbiology, including PCR, plating and analysis. Duties as a

QA Supervisor fall under the monitoring of all QA/QC in an ACLASS accredited, fast-paced private

laboratory. Data management, media/equipment QC, employee training, and purchasing are some

major responsibilities.

As needed, any methods of processing, analysis and reporting performed within the lab are

additionally completed. Participation in SOP validation and research is frequent, with projects

involved in every significant outbreak in the last year. Regular handling of category B biological

substances requires good sterile technique and the work provides good background in growing,

isolating and identifying pathogenic bacterial cultures.

• Department of Bioengineering, University of Washington: Volunteer at the Dr. Gerald

Pollack lab. Independent research based on novel approaches to the properties of interfacial water.

Developed theories at the molecular scale, practiced basic laboratory skills, and reported to supervisor

periodically.

(Jan 2012 – Feb 2013)

• Brainfuse Tutoring: Mathematics tutor, logging several hundred hours of online assistance using

a virtual whiteboard. Problems under subjects through calculus were approached with an

accommodating method of interpretation and solution as they were requested.

• BS in Biology. Graduated March, 2013 at the University of Washington in Seattle.
