Directed daily operation of a classified technical library to support Navy warfare groups and research and development projects. Researched specialized subject matter and authored several documents concerning land and water areas used by a naval warfare support group. Reviewed new NRL-SSC reports and other documentation before publication for presence of militarily critical technology and approved unclassified documents for public release. Abstracted reports and entered information on secure library holdings software system. Ensured accountability for the classified holdings of the Naval Oceanographic Office and the Naval Research Laboratory. Constructed and maintained Support Services Division webpage.

Managed NRL-SSC technology transfer and marketing programs, which consisted of working with industry and government officials nationwide to market government technology. Founder and Managing Editor of eduLINK, a newsletter sponsored and published by the national Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) for Technology Transfer. eduLINK highlighted the contributions of Federal agencies and employees to Kindergarten through University educational institutions. Served as Chairperson, FLC Educational Institutions Committee, and was an appointed member of the FLC Executive Board for four years.

Technical Writer/Editor (GS-6 to GS-11; 1979-1996)

Lead editor for NRL-SSC scientific and technical publications. Through 23 years of experience in writing and editing, gained broad knowledge of ocean, earth, physical, biological, computer, and environmental sciences, as well as engineering and remote sensing. Edited for content, grammar, and style, as well as prepared the following types of NRL manuscripts for publication: NRL Reports and Technical Notes, refereed journal articles, proceedings papers, and funding proposals. Ensured accuracy of security markings on classified documentation. Coordinated closely with scientists and other researchers to ensure accuracy of writing and editing done. Prepared poster presentations and viewgraphs, as well as PowerPoint presentations.

Working knowledge of computer publishing software to produce text and equations, as well as scanning and typesetting equipment. Working knowledge of the following software: Windows, Microsoft Word, MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, WordPerfect, and WP Presentations.
